Ok. . .it's like, going into winter here. . .and Chloe has been SHEDDING everywhere.

I wonder if having the heat on is making her shed?  She's all skinny looking now!

How do you handle shedding?

We have a furminater tool, and a pledge pet fur rolly thing (they are AMAZING, do not pass go, do not collect $200, GO GET ONE NOW)

Ok it s like photo 1132605-1

And we run the vacuum every day because she's itchy when she sheds so she goes to the carpet and rolls around on her back and grunts. . .it's hilarious. .. but then there are PILES of fur on the floor. . .

ahh the joys of having pets, lol!

i have that pledge thing...you don't have to throw it out when it's full....you can remove the rollers and dump it out!  (in case you didn't know!)

LOL Jackie I so totally was going to try that!  I love how on the box it says 'do not attempt to remove rollers and empty the cartridge' because they know they won't make more money off the darn things if people don't toss them and go to the store for a new one :)

Jett sheds all year like crazy because we can't brush him .... We have tried every type of dog brush known to man and he wont let us anywhere near him ...like he shows teeth if we try to brush him ... its bad ..... so I have to vacuum like everyday ...if I skip a day there is dark fur all over the floors and forming balls that rool around in the corners ... yuck ...

And I have a short haired dog!!!   Its so unfair :)

If you bathe her and then use conditioner and let it soak it should get a lot of the shedding hair out. I take my dogs to the groomer and they condition, blow dry/blast the loose hair out, and furminate.

Definately want to get one of those sweepers though!

I've heard the furminator works wonders! DH's aunt has one for her two bernese mountain dogs and one of my coworkers has one for her australian catle dog and they LOVE them they take the dogs outside brush them down and let the fur fly in the wind. i've been told it cuts donw on the shedding drastically but it's expensive about $40.

I don't know how Ruger has any fur AT ALL.  there is fur all over the floor.  we don't let him on the furniture so it's not SO every where, thankfully. =)
