So I got an email last night from our wedding officiant and this is what it said,

Hi Halsey,

Do you have directions available to where I need to be on Saturday?  I didn’t receive anything from you in the mail, so I need you to help me find it.

I’m looking forward to it.  I believe it is going to be a beautiful ceremony.

This saturday is August 4...but here's the problem. our wedding isn't until August 4 2013! A year away! She was swearing up and down I told her this year, even though I forwarded her the email I sent with the filled out form that she responded to that says
"Sunday, August 4, 2013". I have also talked to her more than once on the phone and we have always talked about SUNDAY and 2013.

This just screams red flag to me. I get mix ups happen, but this is a BIG mix up and who's to say it won't happen again next year?

I don't it could tricky, anyone can have a miss understanding I'm sure if you stay in contact with her everything will be fine.  {{HUGS}}

Hmm, I don't think I'd fire her, but go with your gut, definitely!!! Our stinkin priest asked us what time our wedding was at least six times, on the night before our wedding. I'm like, really, haven't I told you enough before today even?!! LOL!

LOL Faith! I don't know, that just isn't right to me. I don't have a deposit with her so I won't be losing anything. Times are one thing, but dates an entire year off? And especially since the 4th this year is on a Saturday and when we get married in 2013 it'll be on a Sunday. I can't count how many times we both said "Sunday".

Dont fire her, I'm sure she just confused.  Going forward make sure you guys are crystal clear about everything else.

I don't know wheter to fire her or not but I would be upset about it.

I would be worried too.  If it were me, I would search for someone else just to be on the safe side.  If you find someone you like better than fire her.  She really needs to get her act together if you do keep her.

Well here's my thing. If this was my baker doing this, that'd be one thing. However, the wedding ceremony won't happen unless she is there and if she's having this issue now, am I going to have to worry in a year?

I would go with your gut and find a new officiant then kindly tell her you have decided to go with a new officiant.

I say go with your gut. If you don't feel confident that you can trust this not to happen again without you literally having to stay on top of her about it, I would fire her and get rid of the stress. But obviously mistakes happen, yadda yadda....(still go with your gut, lol)
