Should I TTC soon after wedding or wait until AFTER graduation?

Here's my dilemma:

Our wedding is in Aug. 2010. Fiance and I were planning to start TTC so that we would have a baby shortly after graduation from my ADN program. (June/July). I will have 2 semesters to go after the wedding,

Now I'm trying to figure out if that's a good idea... My rationale (lol, too many care plans!) is that it will be easier on me to be pregnant during school than during my first year as a new nurse. Plus I plan to go straight into an RN-BSN program. If I went ahead and had a baby soon after graduation I could even have the rest of the summer with the baby....

What would you do in this situation?

Honestly, I say wait....what if you had complications that caused you to have to quit nursing school?  That would really suck.  You never know what can happen.

I would wait - only for the reason brianne mentioned - what if you end up put on bed rest and can't finish school as planned?

Personally, I would wait too.  I knew a couple of girls who were preganat in nursing school and they always got frustrated with their "pregnancy brain"...ie they were forgetful, forgot assignments, etc.  Also, the last couple of semesters I found to be the most stressful.

It is ultimately your decision, so regardless if what you choose make sure it't right for you and your man.  It can be done!

I understand exactly where you ladies are coming from. I'm just afraid its going to be just as stressful when i'm working 3 12's and taking RN-BSN classes. My fiance reminds me that atleast if I wait I will already have my RN to fall back on. I honestly will probably wait. Its just so hard when you want a family so bad.

I would suggest to wait only because nursing school is hard enough let alone add pregnancy brain into the mix.

I would wait until your first year of work. Get a year of solid practice in to solidify your confidence:) Plus if you wont get maternity leave if you don't work enough hours first no?? Here in canada you have to work a certain amount of hours to qualify for EI:)

But in the end it is up to you:)
