Hey ladies! So my mom has started to ask me about my shower (eee!) and I was just wondering how soon before your wedding did you have/are you having your shower? I feel like my friends did it about 2 months prior to their wedding date. Is there a certain etiquette for that? Just wondering. Our wedding is July 27th so what would be a good date? TIA!!

I had mine about a month before and I believe most brides do it within the month before their wedding day.  I truly don't think there's a right or wrong day when it comes to having your bridal shower and/or bachelorette night - it's up to you and most of the time, depends on when all the ladies can get together.  :)

I too had mine about a month before the wedding due to scheduling conflicts.  I have to say that while researching bridal showers for the few weddings that I have been a BM/MOH in, I never ran across a specific timeline for when to have the bridal shower.

When I was MOH I set the bridal shower to be 1 month before the wedding. I was only asked to be MOH 3-4 months before the wedding.

They were engaged for 2 months before deciding on a date.

I should state that I have never had a bridal shower. We were renting an apartment and i figured I would wait until we owned our house and have a housewarming party and that is what we chose to do instead.

We had been married 10 years when we bought our house and I am glad that we did things a little differently. Having that huge housewarming meant that we got money and gifts that would trule help us where as when you are renting you can not buy things like table saws and new kinds of lighting fixtures.

Ettiquette kind of dictates that you have one and not both if you are buying your house at the same time as getting married.

Within a couple months is good! I had mine a little more than a month before :)

I had mine about six weeks before, since some of our guests came from out of town. We wanted to give them enough time between the shower weekend and wedding weekend (in case scheduling/expenses were an issue for travel).

Mine was about 8 weeks prior. We had a destination wedding in February and while planning we thought it made since to do it in early December. It was well before Christmas, but also MUCH before any heavy snowfall that would keep my bridesmaids (4 hr drive) from making it!

Most times I think I have attended showers about 4-6 weeks prior to the wedding.

Thanks for all of your input, ladies!! I think I'll pick a few days about a month or so out and make sure all my bridesmaids are available and go from there.

I had both of mine within the month before the wedding, about two weeks apart; the only reason I had two is that my MatOH had to come down from New York, and all of my ladies thought it would be a good idea to split the guest list up so that the showers would be more intimate.
