Last year, I was actually planning a cruise wedding. I had everything all arranged with my travel agent, and then I had to cancel due to my school situation.

I cancelled after I had sent out my save the dates.

Now, after trying to plan a wedding here, we still kind of have our hearts set on a DW wedding. So, one of the main places that I have been considering is only about 4 hours from where we live.

So, if we do this, how do we send out STD's for this? Do we just send them out as usual, or should I maybe give people a heads up before I send them?  I am a little worried that people won't take us seriously- even though I explained. Plus, FI had gotten laid off at the time, and I did not want to have the added expense of a wedding.

What do you girls think?

Hiya! I'd probably send out the STD's and give the people a follow-up phone call to explain what you're doing and have a chat about it. This is also a good opportunity to get a feel for who will come!
