Oh my goodness i am so nervous already about having to stand up in front of everyone and talk. I will probably pass out lol! I have seriously considered going to a hypnotist so i don't freak out.

Does any one else have this problem?

i almost have a panic attack just thinking about it!

Take a Xanax.  My cousin seriously had to because she had such anxiety about her wedding ceremony.  She made it through.

I am normally a chatty outgoing person, but I am also a little freaked out about being up in front of alot of people.  I plan to down a glass of champagne before the ceremony to calm my nerves :)

Xanax is a good idea Butterfly!

All you are going to be thinking about is YOUR WONDERFUL MAN :)

Don't stress about it, because you will psych yourself into thinking it's worse than it is.  I would see a hypnotist though, if you think it will help.  Honestly though, at my wedding I don't remember anything but my DH. . .I barely remember saying the vows. . .

And I would not take a xanax unless you know how you'll react - seriously - you don't want to be doped up at your wedding. . . .

This, quite honestly, is why we're doing a small destination wedding.  I do better now with anxiety than in the past, but I have quite the history of panic attacks.  It sounds horribly scary to me :(

If you're already freaking out over it, maybe a therapy session or hypnotist would help?  Or a big fat xanax chased by some champagne... well, maybe not, then you'll trip and fall on your butt and then everyone would definitely be watching you :)

I think a lot of brides must be nervous.  Lots of people are scared of public speaking or fear embarassing themselves.  For my anxiety, I spent a lot of time thinking about the "worst case scenarios" and then coming up with solutions.  Like, when I took a speaking class for college.  Scared out of my mind.  My biggest fear was forgetting my speech and failing.. or vomitting.  So I just decided if I *did* forget, I'd laugh it off.  I replayed it over and over in my head, what I would say, how I would react, etc.

Remember, if you DO have a panic attack ( assume that's the worst case scenario), EVERYONE in that wedding cares about you and you will have fifty people clamoring over themselves to help you.  And they will ALL understand you being nervous in front of a large group, as most people are.

I had my sister sneak vodka into my chick-fil-a fountain drink.  She/it was a lifesaver.  :)  I didn't get drunk of course, but it definitely relaxed me and calmed my nerves.  I think if you're not going to go with drugs, alcohol is the way to go.  (Don't tell my future children I said that)

I was SO nervous before my wedding day as well for this reason... at the rehearsal I was thinking about taking a Xanax (and this was no joke) because I was freaking out so much at the thought of all those people just looking at me...

HOWEVER on the day of the wedding this calm feeling came over me and honestly when I was walking down the aisle and saying my vows I felt like DH and I were the only people in the room...

I did have champagne before the wedding as well and that didnt seem to phase me at all...

Aw - I can understand being nervous about speaking infront of everyone. I personally LOVE to present but still feel SO nervous about the actual ceremony part b/c the words you exchange are SO meaningful, sentimental and important. That said - for anyone who has to do public speaking as part of their profession I'd highly recommend "Toastmasters International" (http://toastmasters.org/default.aspx) since they work with people on how to become a good public speaker/leader :)
