So - After finally changing my last name here at work, people have asked me...

"Oh, did you get married or divorced?"

HAHAHA - I guess that's the brakes of being a 30 something bride?

Lol, I was embarassed to go to Social Security and change it again!

I am not physical or mentally prepare to change my name not even hyphenate.

It's funny, I think I'm more sensitive to this since I'm older, as well. I have used my name for so long that it will be so weird to change it!

I wanna keep my name.. I have mastered my signature after all these years now I have to change it :(... FI said its not even an option not to change it lol..

Lol! I haven't gotten exactly that, but I won't be changing my name. People at work assume I will, though, so I've been clarifying to people that I'm not. =)

Moffy, I'm the same way! My students are horrified that I'm not changing it, haha. My coworkers just keep asking what my new last name will be... Good to get the word out now!

I am perfectly contented with a hyphenated name.  I can go by either or both...made changing things over sooooooooooooo much easier.

I am with you my 30 something sisters. I am adding it on. I mean my last name is Lemon...how do you let go of Lemon after almost 36 years? I earned that sour, catchy citrus fruit name. I had to build character BECAUSE of the name. Besides, I have the perfect clue to help folks spell my name...it is Lemon...like the fruit. It gets 'em everytime. The sad part is when folks still spell it Lemmon. (smh) I don't know how the FI is going to feel about it. I think that as long as his name is on there, that is all that matters.
