Work has slowed down quite a bit.  Everytime it's slow I start surfing.  Inevitably I'll log into some photography forums and see all the new/old "toys" everyone raves about.

So far I've wanted to buy:

-580ex.  It's time for me to learn proper flash techniques.

-S90 - So I'll ALWAYS have a camera with me!  But then I'm so picky about lenses I doubt I'll like this one much. I'd much rather get another great DSLR so I can toss the old canon 20D in the trunk.  Or maybe buy a used 40D and toss it in the trunk? LOL!

-5D mark II - See above.  If I were to buy S90 or a used 40D, i might as well fork out some more for the latest and greatest right? Then I can use 20D as my daily camera.  But then it's a lot of $$$.

-tons of lenses - enough said

-Hoya UV filter - My hubby's Hoya Skylight and Tiffen Sky drive me berserk.  Canon is already warm, so i have no idea why he wants his everyday filter tinted.

-CP and polarized filters - I especially want to get a polarized filter so I can experience with super duper long exposure!

^^^ Bleh, but of course there's no way I can get all of them.  Which one do you think I should buy first?

I'm the same way!

I need to win the lottery, lol

If you want to experiment with long exposures, you need a neutral density filter more than a polarized filter.

Ooooh that's right!  I always get confused with polarizer and ND filter.  I guess CP is in the family of polarized filters right? LOL!

Oh hi memoirestudio!  I was just thinking I should ping you about this board.

I think you're right. It doesn't matter how many cameras I'll get, I can always use a flash.  But it'll open another BIG chapter in my photography journey. I'm a little worried that it'll distract me from honing my basic camera skills, like composition and natural lighting.

Update-

I've got 580EX II and been playing with it over the thanksgiving break.  It's great as in life chaning great! I love it!  No longer am I restrcted to natural lighting.  I can change whatever aperture and shutter speed that I want.

I changed my mind about 5D Mk ii.  I'm gonna get 7D, for its ability to shoot 60P and 24P video, 19 focus points, and with the money I save I can get another lens.
