Anybody make really good homemade sugar cookies?  Sugar is DH's fave cookie, but I don't have a good recipe...anybody got one?

frosted or not frosted?

I need a recipe too. The ones I've tried from scratch don't turn out so well. So the last few times I've used betty crocker bagged mixes. Which aren't bad, but I like the feeling of knowing that I made it from scratch = )

He prefers not frosted.  But I'd take a recipe for either.  I like the frosted too!

I have a great one for the frosted sugar cookies....they are very soft!

I might have one for the regular as well stashed away.  I will check on my lunch and get back to you! :)

Cutout sugar cookies

1c butter

3/4suger

3 eggs

2 tsp vanilla

2tsp cream of tarter

1 tsp baking soda

3c flour

cream sugar and butte. add eggs and mix well. Add remaining ingredients (chill) on floured board roll out and cut.  bake 10min at 350.  the less you handle the dough the more tender the cookies are.

Grandma's sugar cookies

2 cups sugar

1c margarine

3eggs

1 cup sour cream

1tsp baking soda

1tsp vanilla

1tsp baking powder

1/2tsp salt

5-6cups flour

cream sugar and margarine beat in eggs. in separate bowl mix sour cream and baking soda. Add sour cream mix and vanilla to mixture.  in separate bowl mix 2c flour with remaining dry ingredients and add. Slowly add remaining flour till you reach desired consistency.  Form into balls slightly flatten top and bake at 350. (you can also add m&m's on top for a little extra)
