How many of you are having toasting flutes? What's the tradition behind that as you know it?

My grandfather's family had a silver coupe/tasse de mariage which went to my great great aunt. I think, I always forget how that works! Anyways, its basically gone so I don't have anything to use dictated by tradition, yay! Should I start a new coupe or go for the toasting flutes? This is a traditional coup if you haven't seen one before, you both share the same vessel and its usually engraved with dates and I think the names too:

My grandmother's family does toasting flutes and they use them every year on their anniversary. My grandparent's were lost after she passed but I think that is sweet too...

SO TORN! What are you ladies doing? Can you share your flutes/other?!

We are doing Waterford Crystal toasting flutes. As far as where the tradition originated from, all I know is that it dates back to ancient Greece I believe.

We dont really have a tradition of it in my family. But my grandmother has bought us a pair from things remembered to engrave. I think it would be really sweet to use your grandparent's coupe!

Champ~ The 'Loving Cup' is so sweet.  It's a shame the one from your grandparents is gone... I say, you start a new coupe tradition!
