so I'm working on a project. Like my idea project and this chic just takes over my project. I'm really upset about this. I feel like i should let it go, but i just feel like, damn...you could have at least asked if you could take over. For the greater good of all those involved, i will move on, but i mean this was MY PROJECT. I feel like this chic just walked all over my toes. I'm so pissed with her. ugggghhhhh!!

i hate when people do that!  the worst part is when someone feels like they're "helping", or they are too much of a control freak to let anyone else do the work even when it isn't their work to being with!

Ask if people WANT your help, then go from there...don't just come in on your high horse and take control.

Ugh, I can't stand this!!  Someone sees how good that you are doing on something and wants to get in on the action and eventually they end up sneaking in and taking control.  I think this is BS! 

I'm glad that you have decided to move on - but you have the right to be pissed!  Stupid chick!

I had a similar situation come up, and it was right around "ask for raise" time. Totally out of character for me, I decided to calmly but firmly stake my claim on the project I'd already started that another co worker was starting to take over (scheduling meetings, sending emails to the team, etc).

I swear I was shaking the whoooole time, but in the end my co worker understood where I was coming from, that while I appreciated their enthusiasm and help with the project, I was going to handle it.

And I did. It kind of made me realize that sometimes people don't necessarily realize they're being a ball hog and sometimes you just have to have a calm, professional, clearing of the air.
