I live just outside of Fort Worth, TX
Is it diverse? We've got a good mix, but a somewhat high concentration of hispanic
What do you think the average income is? It really depends on the neighborhood, but I would say for the parts that I have lived in has been between 40-80k
Average housing price? Again, it really depends on the area. There are some great places, and there are some bad places. Where we live the avg is around 90-200k
What kind of industry/jobs are there? A lot of manufacturing/industrial spots, healthcare, tech, and retail. If you like a bit of a drive, then Dallas has any job you'd want/need
Why do you love/hate it? I love Texas. I am a little partial, but I'm happy living anywhere here. Fort Worth is big enough you still get a feel of "the city" without all the terrible traffic, crime, and muck that actual
big cities tend to have. We have a relatively low homeless rate in the downtown area, and with such a pretty small crime rate. Just outside of town you can have your country livin, if you're into that thing such as myself. We don't have a ton of
things for nightlife, but there are some great gems hidden amongst trees.
Would you recommend moving there? Yes. A hundred times yes. Fort Worth gets a bad rep next to Dallas, but only because the Dallas folks most likely have never actually gotten out of there. I'm not bashing Dallas,
but if you don't want a fast paced, stuck in traffic, kind of life, then yes, I suggest Fort Worth, TX.
