Hi everyone! I thought, since the group is new, it would be fun for everyone here to share their city, wedding date, venue, and some other basic info. Just as a get-to-know everyone kind of post.

I'm in Orlando, getting married on December 13th, 2009 at Highland Manor in Apopka. FI and I have been together for over 5 years and we met our senior year of high school. We got engaged on my birthday at Disney World! I'm a full-time student at the University of Central Florida and I'm majoring in Psychology. I own three Chihuahuas and love shopping, singing, and baking.

I currently live in Jacksonville FL, but just got married in May in Orlando :)  DH and I both graduated from Virginia Tech 2 years ago (ahh) and are searching for our first home in Northern FL.  Our wedding was held in Disney World and made it very easy for a good portion of our family from pittsburgh and upstate new york to attend.  Everything ended up going very smoothly and I was so happy to have found PW for inspiration :)

My name is Jennifer and my FI is Petros, we are getting married on October 10, 2009 in Daytona Beach.  My FI is greek and we will getting married at the Greek Orthodox Church here.  We tried to have a small wedding but the guest list has grown to about 165 people - yikes!  So it is no my big fat greek wedding lol.  We have been together for 6 years and have a 11 month old puppy named Murphy but we call him Bubbas.  With just under two months left I am trying really hard not to get stressed out!!

My name is Jessica and live in Atl but I am getting married in Destin Fl on 10/11/09. Jennifer we would have had the same date but we couldn't find a caterer that day!

My Fi has been going to Destin, since he was in diapers and his parents just moved there permanently this past Monday. YEAH b/c now his mom can help out with more planning!

I meet my FI at work - and yes we still work together. We have been together for 1 1/2.  We rented a house on the beach where we will have the ceremony and reception. We are headed to Destin, labor day weekend to finalize food/cake/hair/make-up and some other loose ends. Getting a little stressed, keeping my fingers crossed it will all get done!

PS - I too have a dog named Emma she is a lab mix, she is now 4 yrs old and was a rescue - she is in our engagement photos -

We live in Orlando - met at a bachelor party, I moved in as his roomate and two months later we were officially dating.  Exactly 1 1/2 years later he proposed to me (April 2009)!!  YAY!  WE are getting married in Jacksonville on base because it is WAY more cost efficient and whatever we don't spend on the ceremony/reception goes towards our honeymoon (thanks mom and dad)!

We have a one y/o lab puppy named Ruger who is probably one of THE most affectionate dogs EVER!!

My name is Amelia and FI is Chris. I was born and raised in Jacksonville but thanks to the military I'm currently living in New hampshire. We are getting married on April 10, 2010 at Clun Continental in Orange Park, FL.

I met Chris through a mutual friend and we hit it off right away but he got deployed about a month after we met. We lost touch but found eachother again right after he got home from deployment. I knew the first time we talked he was the one I was meant to be with. We have now been together for a year and 9 months and i can't wait to spend my life with him. He's a recruiter for the Army and I work as a veterinary nurse and go to shool full time for a bachelor's in English Education. We have 2 cats named Stella and Nixon, 2 dogs named Saydee and Lucky, and a bearded dragon with no name.

My name is Liz & FI is Andy. I was born in Highlands, NC but have been in Sarasota, FL since a small child. We are getting married on December 11, 2009 at The Little White Church at Bee Ridge Presbyterian. My reception is at Lakewood Ranch Country Club in Lakewood Ranch - Bradenton, FL.

We met in school originally, but didn't really talk that much until he came into the Bennigans I bartended at. We have been together for 6 yrs now and engaged for a year.

I have a bachelors in Finance from USF & now we both work for SMH, him in the IT dept. and me as a Fiscal Coord. We have a child (actually a dog - but we consider him our child) Patches and we are altogether a happy family:) Together we enjoy league bowling, adult league kickball, playing Fantasy Football & watching TrueBlood each week.

Hi Ladies!! My name is Mariah, his is Ben. We're 20, and we like in Okeechobee/a really tiny fishing town on top of the lake. We're getting married October 17th. We have bought our own house and have a puppy (Abby), a kitten (Clyde) and a hamster (Blinky). I work at a pharmacy as a technician and am hoping to get accepted into Nursing school in January(!).

Hi Ladies!

My name is Cynthia originally from NYC but now living in Gainesville, FL for about 12 years now... whoa!  I work at UF and am a Gator Fan (Go Gators!).  My FI, Rich, still lives in NYC but is looking for a job here in Gainesville.  This long distance thing really sucks and isnt my thing so it's been quite challenging. We've known eachother for 33 years!  He was my best friends' brother and we met when I was 15 yo.  We began dating when I was 17 yo but as life would have it we broke up and went our separate ways.  Many years later, and after I moved to Florida, I reconnected with my friend (his sis) and would see Rich on my infrequent visits. 

Who would have known that years later we would both end up divorced and recapture our friendship that remained intact, even with those large gaps of time in between?  I love that he remembers details of when we were teens! 

Long story short - 9 years after we started hangin out again, we are finally getting married.  You can say we took the LONG ROAD...  but we're getting married May 15th 2010 here in Gainesville at the historical Thomas Center.  It's gonna be a small wedding (about 50-60 of our closest friends and family) cause its a second marriage for us both but ironically we both never had a wedding before so we are looking forward to it!
