my temps have been at 98.4 the last three days. i dob't really have something to compare to except some temps from the beginning of december. compared to those, my actual measuremts are quite high. and my cm has been watery with turning slightly eggwithish yesterday. i also felt some twinges on my left ovaty. do you think that i already o'd? when would be the earliest you would test?

thanks for your help.

Without a little bit of history on your temps it is hard to say whether those temps are normal for you before or after you O. Also, while it has happpened, it is not common for your temps to be the same 3 days in a row - there should be some variation. Every month is different so you can't look at a few temps from a previous cycle. Your base line can vary from cycle to cycle. I can see paterns that are the same, but the temps are higher one month and lower the next.

Are you using a BBT or an "every day" thermometer? Are you temping right when you wake up before you get out of bed?

sorry for my stupid question, but what is the differnce between a bbt and an "every day" thermometer?

i know that it is more or less impossible to really say something about my cycle with only these temperatures. i just wanted to hear what you guys think about it. probably just to keep me occupied :)

i always took the temperature at exactly the same time in the morning before getting up.

No such thing as a stupid question!

A BBT or Basal Body Temperature thermometer is more sensitive and much more accurate than a thermometer you would get just to see if you have a fever when you are sick.  Many BBTs measure to two decimal places (98.46, 98.42, 98.48, rather than just 98.4) but it is not necessary to have a two decimal BBT (I don't and I can definitely see a pattern in my temps, but it is a BBT).

You can pick up a BBT at Target or Walgreens but I found the reviews to be all over the place on their accuracy so I ordered mine from Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000GGI5UK/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00

HTH! =)

i completely misunderstood my body's signs in the last few days. my temps dropped to 97.88 today and af has showed. this is ok because it means we can start a new cycle.

is it normal that your cm is all over the place when ypu stop bcp?

For some women it can be. I have noticed that mine shows as fertile around my O then dries up for a few days and then gets wetter and more fertile looking right before AF arrives.

Also, this time of year I take Mucinex almost around the clock to keep my sinuses from clogging and getting a sinus infection. The active ingredient is guaifenisen which is what is in the Robitussin that I've seen recommended to help with CM. If you have taken anything like that it can mess with your CM, too.

The good news is now you will have a full cycle of temping data! =)

i have now bought a bbt thermometer. but now i have another question. with this one i will have to take the temperature orally. until now i always took it vaginally. is it a problem to switch during one cycle? should i wait for my next cycle?

You are only a few days into your cycle - I would start now, but I would disregard the temps you took vaginally.
