I know I'm running way behind on getting my thank you cards sent out, but we've been waiting on our pictures to come back, and I'm still not even done editing them. I was curious though- would it be tacky to use postcards since they are cheaper or would I be better off spending a bit (alot actually) more on regular thank you cards?

We were going to use postcards because we think they're cute and modern, but my in-laws wouldn't hear of it (they thought it would be tacky), so we're doing the regular thank you cards.  Zazzle is having a Columbus Day Sale, so we made photo thank you cards there.

I am planning on PostCard style Thank You's... with the bulk paper I am buying it is the most economical in all areas... I do plan to make them special by adding some type of special touch... probably embossing our Monogram & rubbing stamping (I bought several cute ones when Michael's had them 40% off)...

I wanted to do a thank you with our picture - and I'm figuring the cheapest route would be to do a postcard from vistaprint - I can get 100 for just $15.99 - that means customized, printed, and shipped. I thought it was a great deal, right?!

I originally wanted to do a custom postcard but never got around to it.   That Vistaprint deal you listed sounds great!  Plus postage will be cheaper.  I wish I ran across it myself before I used the Kodak Gallery templates.

i just received a postcard.  It was really sweet.  Just make sure that you use the smaller space to write in well.  The letter sent to us was obviously a form letter.  "Thank you for the ______________.  It was so nice to have you with us."  No kidding.  That was the whole letter.

For photo... that's a GREAT deal, even Costco doesn't beat that!

shoot, I just opened an online account to get the email coupons & look for the 100 for 15.99, can't find... can you point me in the right direction?

when you go onto vistaprint.com, there should be a category in the left column that says free products (that's how mine is anyway!) click on that and decide what product you want. I went with the 100 standard sized postcards, where I had to pay $9 for shipping and $5 for an image upload.

Hopefully that helps

I wanted to do a post card thank you too.  I just ordered them from Snapfish. I emailed my photog and asked her to send me over the image that I wanted since I don't have my images yet, she did, I uploaded it to snapfish, created it and voila! It was SUPER easy and I found a $15.00 off coupon code: CCABOCT

I looked into vistaprint but it wouldn't let me put the picture across the entire space so I opted for snapfish. Plus snapfish doesn't charge you for your own image upload.
