how does your family celebrate thanksgiving? Growing up I always had two thanksgivings, one with my moms side of the family and one with dads. Last year we added DH's family into the mix, but this year since we have moved we will be doing thanksgiving with DH's grandmother, who lives a couple hours away from us. This is new!

what is your favorite part of the thanksgiving meal?
I love turkey! But I also love fresh bread, which I usually make =]

what are you bringing/making for thanksgiving this year?
Probably nothing to be honest, we don't really have the kitchen or supplies to make anything this year. We will just enjoy thanksgiving with DH's extended family!

Bonus: share 1 thanksgiving recipe that you make

oooh I might have to get back to this one! I make some awesome bread, and the best macaroni salad. =]

please do chelsi!! i am a sucker for macaroni salad :)

Okay I'll do it from memory hahah

-7 or 8 "handfulls" of small elbow macaroni

-1 tablespoon of sugar

-1 tablespoon of red wine vinegar

-1 teaspoon of mustard

-a bunch of miracle whip (NOT mayonaise)

-5 or 6 boiled eggs

-1 cucumber

-1 onion (optional)

-------------------------------

while boiling the noodles, mix together the red wine vinegar, sugar, mustard, and 2 or 3 heaping tablespoons of miracle whip in a separate bowl (until it is a consistent texture). Once noodles are cooked, strain and put into a large bowl, and immediately add the sauce mixture to them (It is important to do this while the noodles are still hot!). Then once this is mixed together, cover it, refrigerate, and stir occasionally until it is cold all the way through. Add more miricle whip as needed each time you stir.

Once it has completely cooled, peel and chop the boiled eggs and cucumber (in fairly small pieces) and stir them in as well. The original recipe adds tiny chopped up onion too, and I think its good but my family hates onion so I don't do that. =P

Voila! I may not be very good at writing down recipes hahah but this is really the best macaroni salad I have ever had. I will seriously sit there and eat it non stop hahah.

Hopefully that is specific enough - I'm not used to sharing my recipes like that =P
