So I finally dropped all our invitations off at the post office today!  It's official! :)  I was a bit frustrated because I had to add postage to each one once I was there.  Two weeks ago, I had mailed an invitation to myself with a 0.42 stamp and it made it to me just fine.  So I bought 0.58 stamps to be extra safe and make sure there was enough postage.  Got the pretty pink heart stamps for my chocolate brown envelopes with gold writing.  The lady at the post office proceeds to tell me that I need 0.59 for them to be mailed!!  I explained that 0.42 got one to me no problem but she said nope, you need 0.59.  One whole cent is going to make such a big difference??  So I had to get the ugly 0.01 stamp and put it next to my pretty stamps.  Ugh.  Oh well...not a big deal in the grand scheme of things...it was just another 0.85 more and no one really cares about the envelope anyway... but it was the principle.

But at any rate, I'm super excited to know that in a few days, my friends and family will begin to receive the invitations that I spent hours putting together! :)  It's finally feeling really real!  Just thought I'd share!

Good for you!!  sorry about the stamp thing...i have heard that sometimes one agent will tell you one thing, and another will tell you something else in regards to postage....but you're right...in the grand scheme, it's not that important.  Congrats!

that is such a pain! I cant believe she made you do that :( what a Biatch. I am sure she is jealous that you are getting ready for the most beautiful wedding ever, and she is NOT invited.

I too went through frustrations when dealing with the post office. But it feels so good to have them in the mail. I wanted all my invites hand cancelled so they charged me a surcharge which forced me to put one ugly stamp on or one wedding stamp and two 10cent stamps. I choose the one ugly one but I wasn't happy.

actually, she was really nice about telling me a needed an extra penny...even admitted that they were ugly.  she said i could try to send them with 58 cents but they would probably all get sent back to me.  that probably wouldn't happen but i didn't want to risk having to re-do aaalllllll the envelopes by hand again!!  so i caved.

p - rsvp's with no +1's :)  fingers crossed!
