Thinking About Getting A 2nd Dog

  awww he's so cute!  i have a chi and we plan on rescuing at the end of next summer.  i'd definitely take your current dog to the shelter or breeder to see how they get along.  good luck!

smarter than my daughter who just got an American Staffordshire Terrier something or other that's really a pit bull but she gets pi$$ed when I say that. I'm ticked off that she and FI did this.  First of all, they keep bringing it to my house.  i have 3 dogs of my own.  Second, their going to have kids and when they do that pit bull or whatever the H it is...is going to be a problem.

I say, wait until you have kids to get your dog...but you won't listen because you'll have so many reasons...but the world changes when you have kids and sometimes dogs just don't fit in...

AND I'M A BIG FAT DOG PERSON WITH 3 OF MY OWN AND ONE WHO JUST LOST.  I LOVE DOGS!!!!  BUT I LOVE KIDS MORE.

Good luck with your app Wil!  I have one dog and plan on adopting another after the wedding.  I feel so guilty leaving mine alone without a buddy during the day! If only we can take our pets to work... :)

We just got a 2nd dog a few days ago (She's part weimeriner and part lab)... so far it's great! She seems to get along w/ the beagle pretty well. They're both great cuddlers, so it's awesome to have them around to snuggle with during the winter! Good luck w/ your 2nd dog!! :)

Awww Wil - Hope it all works out for you... I, too, have to live vicariously through others until we are mentally ready for the responsibilities...

omg, our border collie/german shepherd mix is from petfinder!  i've been wanting to get another dog (puppy)  after the wedding because they'll be able to entertain each other in the day... and our current dog will be able to teach the new pup some manners. 

i've never had more than 1 dog at a time so i'm not sure exactly how it is to own 2 dogs.  i watch a lot of cesar millan, and as long as you are the pack leader, you should be fine! 

of course it's going to be a little more work, but i say its worth it! :)

Well the super cutey didn't work out. He's already on his way to a loving home. We have 2 other potenttials that we're contacting rescue organizations about. Im sure we'll get paired up soon enough.

darn!  well, everything happens for a reason!  i was so nervous about that when we were in the process of getting Jack too....and the lady told us that if he didn't work out with us, she was taking him to another place right after our house!!  luckily, he stayed with us!
