Personally, I did nothing other than stop taking birth control and start taking prenatals.

Some women will speak with their doctors first to get more info, but I found that I got way more info around these boards than what my doctor would have given me.

I talked to my Gyn at my yearly visit in Feb (we weren't trying until Apr).  She said to have sex every other day and to start prenatals.

After doing some research I decided to take the Rainbow Light prenatals and I also take a DHA supplement nightly.

I am a type A personality and I had some issues with light periods and not knowing whether I could be PG or not so I started charting and I also have a fertility monitor.  For some using these things more stressful.  For me charting and using the monitor relaxes me since I can know when I am ovulating.

I took prenatals starting 4 months before ttc. My cycle is so regular it only took one time and i am already preggo!!

Here's what I'm doing to prepare (our first cycle TTC will be next month or Dec):

-Started taking prenatals

-Stopped BC in August (2-3 months off BCP is recommended, but not required)

-Read Taking Charge of Your Fertility

-Started temping using FF (big ditto hmz819.. some people find it a hassle but it's great for my over-planning self!)

-Researched OB/GYN's and will most likely meet with one next month.. just to get established.

Everyone is different though and you can totally take a more laid back approach, it's all about what you're comfortable with.  I would say the most important thing is to start taking prenatals.  Outside of that, it's completely up to you.. HTH!  GL!

When I talked to my doctor, she said to start taking prenatels and then to start having sex, and to call her when I am pregnant.  LOL.  That was last year though and we never started trying yet. We are going to start next year though.

I vey briefly and informally talked to my Dr. when I was in for my annual only b/c DH has LSP so I just wanted to see his take on it.  He told us to do every other day and of course prenatals.  He also said if I'm not preggo in 6 mos come back but otherwise call when I am. I have been off BC for a year and just did my first OPK this month.
