I just got back from my 32 week appointment and I am SO mad right now - might need some help talking me down off the ledge lol The OB practice that I go to is made up of a midwife and 4 OB's. I have seen my midwife at all of my appointments except for two. Now that i'm farther along she wants me to see everyone in the office in case I go into labor and she's not on call. Totally understandable. So today I saw one of the male OB docs and I was not impressed. As most of you know I have gestational diabetes but it has been VERY well  controlled with diet. At my last appointment my midwife said I was the "poster child for GD". Well apparently this doc thinks differently. He went on and on about how I'm a high risk pregnancy and that if I dont have this baby by 39 weeks they are going to induce me. And then started using scare tactics about how my risk of having a still birth baby increases everyday past 39 weeks. SERIOUSLY?! I wanted to jump off the table and strangle him. I could understand if the baby was measuring big, if I was on insulin, if my numbers were out of control. But I have had NONE of that. My weight gain is actually right on track - he even said I could probably gain a few more pounds! UGH!
I also keep a journal of what I eat and what my blood sugars are so that I know what foods are affecting my blood sugar. My midwife loved that I did that - called me a rockstar. Well this guy was just annoyed by it. Told me all he cared about were my numbers and just to put them on one page - he doesnt need all the rest of the info. REALLY?! This guy better not be on call when i go into labor! I see my midwife at my next appointment in two weeks and I'll be real curious to see if she feels the same way as this doctor. I'm going to say she doesnt :) Anyway...that's enough of my venting, sorry to put you through that I just really needed to get it out!
But on a positive note my baby girl isnt breech anymore! :) WOO HOOO!!!!

Awww, that was very rude and insensitive of the OB. Hopefully he isn't on shift when you go into labor! So sorry you have to even be bothered with it! Congrats on the baby turning, lucky lady!

What an a$$! So sorry you had to deal with him and hopefully your midwife will be the one to deliver the baby :-)

That was my biggest fear - my dr not delivering G but he was awesome and did so even though he wasn't on call :-)

Hooray for baby girl doing a flip! She's a rockstar like her momma! Boo for the OB with a less then desireable bedside manner :(
Just know that they're not all like that, all of my OB's are amazing, it's actually the one midwife in the practice that I had problems with!

Ugh! Fingers crossed he is not on call! If he is, just make sure he knows mama is boss! YAY for her turning!!

So frustrating!

I can relate...at my OB office they have a different doctor in every day of the week and you don't know which of those doctors will be on call when you go into labor.  So I've been trying to meet most of them and some of them are so mean and arrogant compared to others. I hope I don't get one of the mean ones when it's time to deliver too!

Good news that your LO flipped though!  That's so awesome :) Just try not to let what that OB said get to you.  You know you are doing great and so does your midwife and that's all that really matters!

Thanks for your kind words ladies, I really appreciate it! :) It was just such a shock yesterday to hear what he had to say, I just wasnt prepared for it. When I told my DH about what he said, I think he was more upset than me! :) Made me love him even more!

Seriously YUCK! I am sorry you had to deal with that A**hole. I know how you feel after I had that TERRIBLE appointment with the at risk OB in my practice. Thank god she was no where near me during my c section. I would let your midwife know and pray that he is not there the day of. Good news about LO not being breech anymore though! And your DH is a good supportive guy. My DH was the same way when I told him my experience. Feels good to have someone on your side.
