So I need something for the foyer of my house.  This is the space in front of the stairwell when you walk in. I have it narrowed down to two things...a bench (with baskets) and a console table.  In both cases, I'd hang a mirror over it.

Which do you like better? The bench is smaller and would fit the area better but I'm torn.

I like that table you can add baskets and other decorative items to make it really nice!!

I would go with the console if you don't have a closet near by, cause you could store shoes in it:) But the table is a nice choice too!

hmm I think it might be just find in that space. with a nice photo or mirror hanging above would look really good.

Ooooh I can see why you are torn.  Personally, I love the bench more. . .but, seeing your other posts and the style of your house, I think the table more fits in with your decor.

However, a bench is always a great choice - if you don't want shoes in your house, it's a hint to guests, they are always inviting, don't become crap collectors (mail, keys) like a table might, and if it fits the space better then it makes sense.  

uhm i'm kinda torn too!!! i'd say either stick with what fits, don't want anything too big. if you're not 100% sold on the bench, keep looking. It really depends what you want the table or bench to be used for! if youw ant just an easy place to put keys etc. or if you want to make it so that people can take their shoes off, etc. that kind of thing!

I like the console more because you can add pictures and a mirror on top and other knick knacks, no room for seating. 

After seeing the actual space, I don't think the table would be too big.  If that's what you favor, go for it!  I prefer the bench but only because I'm always fumbling to put my shoes on :)
