Ok back in middle school my sisters/cousins/and I were NSync fans. We had a VHS tape (yeah, oldschool!) of one of their concerts-and we would try to imitate their dances. Each one of us would pick one of the guys and we would try to sing and dance the parts of that particular band member. We didn't know the dances too well, so it was like we were watching the tape, and trying to follow along and we were always a couple seconds behind.

so what singer/band did/do you imitate?

HA!!!  You name it I imitated it growing up!!!

In middle school there was like 5 of us girls that hung out EVERY DAY - usually at my house .... we were always making up dance routines ....a few that stick out in my mind

Motown Philly -  Boys II Men -  we didnt really imitate them but had a dance down to the WHOLE song .....

Treat EM Right - Chubb Rock -  Yep we had a routine to this too -  5 white girls putting down steps to Chubb Rock

I wish I had some of this on video ....

I did make it my business all through Middle School and High School to learn and know ALL the newest steps .... and loved to participate in "Battles"  at our high school dances :)

well I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who was being dorky and choreographing dances! After NSync for us was-oh crap I just forgot the name of the band. They had a song called "summertime girls" or something. The lyrics went "new kids on the block had a bunch of hits, chinese food makes me sick, and I think its fly when the girls stop by for the summer, ...summer...."

Anyways, we had a dance for almost all of their songs-but we didn't know any "cool" dance moves. So they were nerdy white girl dances LOL

LOL!!!   Let's hear it for corny white girl dances!!!!  WHOO HOO!!!   :)

My Granny did actually video tape some of them-we watched them at her house last year and we were about to fall off the couch bc we were laughing so hard. you HAVE to tape some of your kids' productions they do at home. They'll be priceless later

Kids today are so much more advanced than we were :)

my sister had the janet jackson rhythm nation videotape and we would play/rewind/replay that thing a million times to learn the "miss you much" choreography. i think i can still do part of it :p

i was also a broadway musical nerd. i was always listening to soundtracks and watching movie musicals. my best friend and i would sing showtunes and choreograph dance routines between classes. so dorky!

I pretended to be Jem and Barbie and the Rockers!  But my sister and I LOVED the New Kids on the Block.  (I cringe now)
