Timily's Recap - Part 1: leaving work/bachelorette party!

It begins...

So Friday was one of those crazy work days, in which I was at work until about 8:30 at night, with things going everywhere.  My kids were performing in a parade, with my principal there, and lots of pressure all around.  But - amazingly - things went extremely well.  It just sort of, went off, and was great.

We rode the bus back to school, and went back into my classroom.  Last year when we did this same parade, it was 9:30 before all of my kids got picked up.  This year, I told parents, "we'll be home by 7:30," and the last kid was picked up by 7:45.  They must have known I was getting married.

Two of my BMs were already at my apt., with (then still) FI, and so I drove home.  I was elated.  Actually, that was not even the word for it: it amost felt like more than just getting married, more than just being in love, more than work going well, more than anything else.  Up until that night, I'd never felt so much happiness in my life.  :)

I went home and FI was there, and my girls were on a Michael's run.  :)  Naturally.  We ate fancy chocolates and drank champagne and I just swilled on how excited I was.

The next day, we had breakfast, and we went shopping.  Had I mentioned that my shoes hadn't come in, like ever, and I needed a pair?  Thankfully, my band parents had given me a $100 Macy's gift card the day before, so we put that to work.  Across the room, I found my shoes - sort of a shiny nude color, thick heel, Mary Jane style, with a big bow on them (like my dress!).  DONE.  And they were only $45, discounted, and um, wow.  :)  I also found a perfect blue dress for the night, after I'd only been searching for one for, well, forever.

So then MOH comes in, rollicking from the airport.  My place is a HUGE mess, full of wedding crafts, but at that point, plenty of our BFFs (three of my BMs) are there, and more are coming.

We waited downtstairs in the lobby, and I think even dipped into the champagne before the festivities actually started, as the girls started to load in.  Once all 11 of us were off, we piled into the van that MOH had rented, were greeted with naughty silly bands, naughty shaped mints, all the likes.  They got me a bridal fascinator with pink rhinestones on it, and it was rad.  We had so much fun just on the drive down, it was terrific.  Everyone went around the big ol' van mentioning how they knew me (my DH is also known as "Boca Tim", because he's from Boca Raton, and so my new name was/is "Mrs. Boca Tim"). 

We got to the hotel, which was awesome, and were late for the drag show dinner reservations we'd made, so no champagne toast in the lobby.  Oh well! 

We walked over, to the windiest day Miami Beach had seen in a very long time, and had tons of appetizers, drinks, and the likes ready for us.  It was an outdoor table, we were right on one of the more famous South Beach strips, and it was a huge drag show going on.  There were lots of gorgeous Miami gay dudes (which for me, seeing beautiful gay guys > strippers) and I got quizzed about my marriage by one of the hostess drag queens. 

At some point, a few drinks in, our "bouncer", one of our GM and one of my very best friends Ryan came up and gave me a big hug.  Our waitress bizarrely enough thought I was going to marry him (why oh why would you invite your almost husband to your b-party!?).  He bought shots for everyone, and well, it went off the rails from there.

We did something for everyone that night, and a few girls trailed off to the hotel in pairs.  Luckily we did not lose anyone that night, all 12 of us, and it was great.  The next destination was the beach beach, where all of us girls in dresses got whipped around by wind & sand.  One of my BMs lost her beloved earring in the sand, so she and another friend were looking with their cell phone flashlights for it in the whipping sand.  Sheesh.  As it turned out, the earring had fallen in her cleavage. 

Later, we went to another latino tourist bar, then to an indie bar (with a pole conveniently placed in the corner of the second floor loft...near the balcony...hrm...), where we also had TIME TRAVEL, as it was daylight savings time!  Then to a super super sketch Miami dive bar, where we danced to the Pixies, and then to sandwiches and tacos.  Then back to the hotel.  MOH and I were asleep in the cab on the way back. 

Many more adventures, about which I cannot go into detail, occurred, but suffice to say, it was a way wild bachelorette!  Super fun, super friends, all in all just wonderful times.  <3
