Though I haven't done this, I'd love to make one!  It's a frame with a glass top and paint chips encased in it, and voila!  A homemade dry erase calendar!

How neat is this thread?! Love it!

I've got two tips that have been handy.

1. Instead of buying special bag clips to keep opened chips and the like from going stale, I use wooden clothes pins. You can buy a huge bag for less money and you don't worry much if you lose one or one breaks.

2. With 4 kids, I'm covered up in their artwork. I've gone to stringing a line across the dining room and using clothes pins to hang their work there. When they want to put up a new piece of work, they know one of their older pieces has to come down. And I take a picture of the older piece before I throw it away. That makes them less upset about it, knowing we've got a picture of it.

for all the moms photo 3411355-1 for all the moms and future moms this is a must...  take an old shoe box and fill it with common snacks that a babysitter might like.  inside is also a printed out sheet of tips the babysitter may need for each of your children (example:  Bella will not go to sleep unless you read to her first.  She tends to wake up about an hour after she goes to bed, but we usually make her stay in bed and within 15 minutes she is asleep again.  If she gets up from the bed and out of her room it could be a couple of hours before she is sleepy enough to go to sleep again.)  any food allergies or dislikes could be on this paper too.  a hand written note could be added to the paper if a child is currently sick or has a school project they have to spend some time working on or something.  also in the box is a instruction card for how to work your remote control for the tv.  this way your babysitter knows the snacks are for them, any important telephone numbers they need, what they can eat in the fridge or freezer, any important info about the kids, and how to work the remote.  found this on pintrest and there is a blog that this was posted from.  the blog is really great.
