Trash The Dress

What do you girls think about trash the dress photos? I just saw some awesome pictures on trashthedress.wordpress.com and I was thinking about doing it since my dress is just hanging in our closet. I know sometimes we want to save our wedding dress for our daughter someday, but what if I don't ever have a daughter and maybe she won't want to wear it anyways, since the styles are changing through out the years. I wouldn't want to cut the dress up or anything like that, but I really like the idea and some of the pictures that I have seen are so beautiful. After the photo shoot I would probably take the dress to the cleaners for cleaning and hang it back up in the closet. I was thinking of making a photobook for our upcoming wedding anniversary.

I am personally not doing a TTD session, but I have seen some beautiful pictures. It seems fun!

I'd say do it if your willing! Plus its another excuse to wear your dress! Also, depending on what you actually 'do' during the session- your dress may not end up "trashed." Just a thought :)

I read Lori's post awhile ago that said she had it dry cleaned and everything was good as new.

Holy is right, its a chance to wear your dress, otherwise you'll end up like my friend's mother: trashed and wearing the dress, parading around the lawn one fine day ;)

Or like my coworker- she was a runaway bride for Halloween! She had her dress on with a pair of sneakers! Sadly, It was right when she was dealing with her divorce haha still genius idea none the less (fits her personality well). I know I'll snag the idea this halloween- ANOTHER excuse to wear the dress right? haha

I may do a trash the dress session. I haven't decided yet.

HMM~ I love that idea... My mom went as the bride of Frankenstein one year and used her wedding dress. It was really funny!

You may not get a daughter, but what about your granddaughter? When I saw the condition of my grandma's dress, I nearly cried. I would have loved to have worn a vintage dress.

I did it and my dress is clean and hanging in my closest just like new...a little sand and sea water didn't hurt it at all. I say go for it!
