Just posted in the 'our first home' group but thought I'd share here too as I am so excited!  Adding molding really makes such a difference.  Our house needed some character.

Wow what a difference!  It looks beautiful!  I would love to see more pictures of your house if you ever felt like posting them.  It looks like you have a gorgeous home.  I love looking at pictures of houses.  I think because mine is such a money pit...lol but I am grateful for a roof over my head.

Thanks everyone!

James2113: I love looking at pics of houses too!

Here is a pic of the 'before and afters' of our family room, which probably is the most 'dramatic' change...

Looks amazing!  It makes such a difference!  My current house is almost 100 years old and has this beautiful molding throughout, but the house is just too small for us if we have kids so we will likely sell soon.  I was just telling DH that I want to take pictures of the molding before we sell so that we can add some to the next house (since most these days aren't built with it)!  Love what you guys did!

MurphNoMore - yes! older homes have all the beautiful molding and character! but tend to be smaller, especially closets!  but newer homes are so cheap when it comes to molding!  They don't have the level of detail that older homes have - but the rooms are MUCH bigger.  In the end, though, you could always add molding - much harder to add space ;o)

Kristen_Tater - No, sadly, we did not DIY anything!  Neither of us have the time or patience...but watching them do the trimwork, it really doesn't look difficult.  Cuts just have to be perfect, but I totally think this is the type of project that can be DIY.
