Do you own many shows on DVD? Why did you buy them?

I find I own TV shows for one of 3 reasons...

1)I love it so much I HAD TO HAVE IT FOREVAAAAAAAR

2) I couldn't find it to rent on DVD so I bought it

3)I can't commit to watching it every week (or can't, if it's something on Showtime or whatever) so I wait until the next season is out and watch it all at once.

What shows do you own?

I own all of Battlestar Galactica (reason 1); most of Dexter (3), Criminal Minds (3), some NCIS (2)..... and an assorted season here and there of some other shows (2). I actually think I need to try and sell some--get more shelf space for stuff I really love! :)

i buy DVD's mostly because i LOVE the bonus features! i just love hearing about all the behind the scenes stuff and also the gag reels.

DH also buys a lot of TV shows on DVD because he can watch them over and over and over again. sometimes he likes to put them on as background noise while he's doing other things.

We own How I Met Your Mother and That 70's Show.

I used to watch them all the time, and I know I will when HIMYM cancels, for sure.

I still love That 70s show :)

I also want Friends.  I can never get sick of Friends!

I buy a lot of Tv series on DVD for LadyHope's reason #1.  Here are the ones I have:

• Entourage
• The Office
• Friends
• Seinfeld
• Sex and the City
• The OC
• Desperate Housewives

There are so many more that I want too!

We have far too many DVDs (seriously, we could start our own rental service).

Most of the shows we have are his choices (various seasons from all 5 Star Trek shows, Family Guy, American Dad)  I have a few shows but the only other show I'd want I can't find on DVD.  Otherwise we're pretty content with what is available on Netflix.
