Hey ladies,

So yesterday I went to go pick up my dress (YAY!) and when I put it on, I felt soooo gorgeous! Well, I opened up the photos this morning and I started crying. I HATED the way that my face looks. I haven't ever felt that badly about myself after looking at a picture.

I'm not in the best shape, but after being an athlete who trained for 6 hours a day for most of my life, anything feels awful. But I am determined not to let myself look like this a year from now (a little less) and hate the way that I look. I'm not used to having to "try" to lose weight, so I'm really stuck. I can't do any high impact stuff because of my knees, can't swim because I'm allergic to chlorine. I have the Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred DVD, that I did for a few weeks before, but I want to know if anyone has more long term results from that or a DVD like it?

We also don't have a gym near our house.

I guess I'm REALLY on the fence about losing any weight because the dress fits me perfectly already.

Any tips would be really appreciated. Thanks so much ladies!

its all in your diet!! drinking 4-6 glasses of unsweetened green tea a day, helps rid water weight. eat protein early in the day, to boost your metabilism through out the day. when you drink water, drink ICE water, with ice in it! your body has to work harder to bring ice water to body temperature, so it actually burns calories in the process. and walk alot! i purposly leave things upstairs, so i have to run up and down the stairs more often. rather then bringing everything down at once, i make a few trips. its the little stuff like that that counts! and girl, you have a year till your wedding and you already look great! i wouldnt sweat it, but if you are, just change your daily routine to add a little bit of cardio in it, with out actually "exercizing" i gained 21 lbs with my pregnancy, and i lost 32 pounds after i had her because of doing all of the above! i just startin moving more bc i hate organized exercize!!

I've seen awesome results from the JM 30DS.  It really does work!

I've been faced with same dilemma and the weight is starting to come off.  I've cleaned up my eating, but I'm not perfect, nor will I probably ever be.  I'm following the Body for Life program and it is super easy and I'm never hungry. Sometimes, for me, it is just a battle of wills with my head.

I'm not sure if it's a number you want to lose in regards to pounds or just an over all feel and look to your body.  Keep in mind, you CAN lose weight without high impact.  I know you're an adenaline junkie, but you can still a burn without further injuring yourself.

I'm just an e-mail away!

You have a year!  Don't waste time with what you can't do.  Do what you can and do it consistently.  You will see the benefits!  I wasted a lot of time and I'm paying the price now!  Learn from my mistakes.

You got this!

These ladies are right! It's the little things (like walking more often than not) and diet! But I just wanted to hop and on and say it's not a great feeling to compare yourself to before. I hear so many people at the gym say, "I used to be in such great shape!" It's true, but don't compare yourself to when you had six hours a day to train. Do the best you can do NOW. Lives change, so try to accept it, and do everything you can now :)

It's a hundred daily decisions about should I have this or that? Or do this or that? etc. Good luck girl, and you do look gorgeous in your dress! A year is a long way (but also a short time) away lol. Weird right! You can do it!

Weight loss will happen with changing what, when, and how much you eat along with drinking more water.  Walking is fairly low impact so that should work for your body.  It works much better if you have someone to walk with.

However, I understand your dilemma about not wanting to lose weight because your dress fits perfectly.  (If you're like me you have a limited amount of funds and alterations can be expensive.)  However, I think it's more important to like how you look because you don't want to cry looking at all your wedding pictures in the future.

Ohhhh, I'm so sorry you feel this way :(. I actually lost 10lbs last winter/spring just drinking a lot more water, cutting on pasta and doing abs. I'm sure you'll look like a princess by your wedding date...(and already look beautiful). Don't be to hard with yourself. Hugs.

Oh Halsey don't be so hard on yourself. You are beautiful. But if you want to lose a little weight and make a lifestyle change to be healthier I'd suggest checking out the pink method. I posted about this awhile back but didn't get a good response. But I discovered it with my sister. It was on Dr. Phil, The Doctors, and others. It's an at home program that teaches you how to eat healthier and incorporate exercise and it guides you step by step so you aren't making drastic changes right away. It was only like $60 and I loved it! I'm not doing well with it anymore but I do plan to go back to it after the wedding.
