VA girls: Engagement photo locations

I'm having a second engagement shoot in January (long story). My photog is from VA so I'm either gonna meet him in Richmond or Charlottesville.

Anyone know any good locations for photos in either of these cities? Pretty buildings and streets and such?

Only thing I can think of is UVA campus.

There is a downtown area in Charlottesville.  I don't know what it's called, but there are a lot of restaurants outside (the street is blocked off) and the area has older buildings and some alleys.

The UR campus is GORGEOUS.  Try the gazebo on campus that sits on top of Westhampton Lake.  You won't be disappointed!  I went to school there and can send you some pics if you want...

if you decide on richmond, you should think about browns island and any of the areas down in shockoe bottom where the skyline is in good view, as well as the river.

as4968, might be a bit of a drive for you, but we just did ours at the Back Bay Wildlife Refuge in Virginia Beach.

It was gorgeous, and it has a great oceanfront beach, nice boardwalks, and lots of greenery so you can get a lot of variety. I brought my camera along (after checking with our photog if that was OK- he was all for me taking some photos of the scenery while he took pics of us, which was cool) and so here are a few of my shots:
