Hi There!

I've just discovered the Project Wedding site and your group whilst investigating options for my Vegas wedding........

I'm from Australia and my man and I have been engaged for 5 years (i'm too indecisive to have made any plans yet, and we've always wanted to elope!) Recently,we decided to do a giant road trip across the States in August/Sept next year, and when our closest mates heard, they decided to come too. (meaning we will have a total of about 10 guests at a maximum)

The destination of Vegas was discussed, and we decided that we couldn't NOT get married while we're there! Soooooooo..... now I have the complex issue of trying to 'plan' a wedding from the other side of the globe that balances the spontaneous feeling of eloping but doesn't turn into a tack-o-rama tragedy!

We want to run with the stereotype Elvis wedding for the fun of it, but I don't want it to be a hideous joke! So I'm thinking that i run with the 50's Rockabilly style theme, with me in a more pin-up girl style ensemble and the boys rockin the quiffs....... this means i'll need a pretty specific hair and make-up person, and a recommendation of the least tacky elvis theme venue around! Figure we'll do reception by just jumping in a Limo and heading out to party the night away with such a small group, so that portion will be easy enought to organise once we get there!

Any help would be soooo appreciated! Thanks Ladies! :)

My FI and I are looking into gettting married at Hartland Mansion in Las Vegas. Have you heard any reviews or known of someone having an event or wedding there?

is it cool if i lurk here, though i'm not getting married in vegas, as much as that was always my dream. I am having a sort of retro chic/ rockabillywedding, and i know i can pick up some ideas and tips here. And of course the vicarious pleasure!

Hartland Mansion is kind of run down looking and dirty.... Not worth the money if you ask me...
