Anybody wearing a veil to complete the look of a bride or bypassing the veil all together?

i wore a veil.  the only time in your life when you will wear one...unless the custom of wearing one at a funeral comes back in style.

I didn't buy one when I bought my dress, and was having the same thoughts so last weekend I tried one on with my dress - it looks terrible so no veil for me!!

I too, was torn with the idea of having a veil.  I didn't buy a veil with my dress, mainly due to cost plus it never came to mind about wearing one.  I'm going to maybe create my own veil and play around with different styles.

That's the best idea, see what one looks like - do you have anyone that you could borrow from just to try on with your dress?

I'm pleased that I now know for sure that a veil is a no-no for me, but now I need to work out what to have instead!!! Lol

Originally I didn't want a veil until I went dress shopping and when the consultant put one on with my dress, I just had to have one! My veil and headpiece is what made me feel like a bride. I didn't want to pay a fortune for the veils, so I went on my favorite website, etsy.com and got a veil made for $19.99 from a vendor called a busy mother.

Thanks Mrs.CaleYoung, will definitely look into that vendor.  And see if I can save money by saving my time. As you know, time is money!

I have one that came with my dress, but typically I don't like veils with hair being worn down, and I'm 98% sure I'll have my hair down...but I want to wear it so i don't know what i"m going to do.  I did get this feather hair comb, but I'm really stuck with my hair.  I was going to pin it up on one side with the comb, and do a loose, vintage wavy look, but I really want to use my veil, so I'm not sure yet what I'm going to do.  But I feel liek the veil really does complete the look of a bride. :)
