Vietnamese Brides: Does the bride's name go first or groom's name first?

Over the weekend we showed FI's mom our sample invitation cards and when she looked at it she said that we put the order of our names incorrectly. According to her, Vietnamese tradition is that the groom's name should go first and then my name... but I'm looking everywhere online and the order shows bride's name first and then the groom's name. When I asked my grandpa, he said that the order doesn't matter much.

So.... which is it?! I'm so confused...

Hmm... For my invitation my name appeared first. That is how the Vietnamese printing firm ordered the name also, even though we did not go with them. Tradition is, maybe this is western and I am no help to you, a bride's name appears before the groom's pre wedding. Thereafter the wedding a woman's name comes after her husband's.

My parents are traditionalist and they did not comment on the order of me then him.

Traditionally for Vietnamese, the groom's name goes first in the invitation.

Western/American invites have the bride's name first.

i've seen them both ways.

traditionally, the groom's name comes first in the invite. so if you have a more traditional wedding or parents who prefer this, groom's parents and name comes first.

if you have a more western/non traditional wedding or want to emphasize that, bride's name typically comes first.

but it's so common for both ways these days that it just depends on your preference.

I believe you make two columns; that way you bypass the issue.  The bride is usually on the right, the groom on the left.

When it comes to introductions and listing the names in the programs, the groom's family goes first.
