Ok, I really don't know exactly where to start...but we had the most wonderful romantic fantastic unique and FUN wedding day in New York!

It started with a bit of a stress when leaving home going to Oslo to fly via Brussels to NYC. There was a lot of problems (fog and ice) on the airport in Oslo, but we caught an earlier flight and made it to Oslo. The next morning our flight to Brussels was just 30 mins delayed, so that was ok - we thougth! We got on the connection flight to JFK, but when we arrived the luggage was not there!! I had my jewelry and my wedding dress, but my shoes, my veil and all other stuff was in the suitcase!

So we had to run around the city and try to find substitutes. We arrived on Dec 22, the wedding was on Dec 26... On Dec 24 they still didn't know WHERE our luggage was, and I was CRYING on the phone to AA! My FI bought his tuxido in NY as planned - so he was all set, but what about me!! :)

At 1:10 AM (12/25) the phone in our hotel room rang, and then they told me that our luggage had arrived! I was SO happy!! But guess what - it was only MY suitcase that had arrived. They didn't know where the other one was, but my FI was really happy that it was MY suitcase that arrived first ;) Luckily his came the same day in the afternoon... I didn't buy a 2nd veil, because I didn't find one to match my dress, and I was really exhausted... so I thought to myself that if it's meant to be, my luggage will arrive in time for the wedding.. and so it did!! :)

The DAY turned out just perfect! I went to the salon to get my hair and makeup done, the groom went to pick up the flowers and get his hair styled for the day... The photographer Fred (from H&H Photographers in NY) came to my salon and started taking pics of me, and then the groom came and picked us up in the Limo. We drove to Central Park and took some pics there, and then we went to the Ladies Pavillion where the ceremony took place. It was really romantic and beautiful!! Rev Alison Caiola had a heartwarming and beautiful ceremony planned for us, and I just cried and cried (and laughed!!).

After the ceremony we went to the Tavern on the Green to meet with Peter from Filmcars, where he brought a checker cab so we could take pics with the cab. It was really great fun, and Peter's sure been a real pleasure to work with! Such a sweet and warm guy! Afterwards we went around in the city and took more pics, both at the Rockefeller Center and on Times Square! People were cheering us - not really knowing if it was "just a photo shoot" or if we really were newly weds :) But it was so much fun!

At 6:30 PM we went back to the hotel, had a drink in the bar there, and then went to the River Cafè in Brooklyn for our romantic wedding dinner... It was really the perfect choice, and the most beautiful ending of our Fairytale Wedding in New York. I'm really glad we eloped and did all of this... we've just seen the pics, and they turned out really great! I'll post some of them here when we get them downloaded... :)

We showed the pics to some of our closest friends yesterday, and one of them is a photographer himself, and he LOVED the pics, and all the details in the pictures. He said the photographer really had an eye for details, and that's good to hear :) We might put out a part of the ceremony on youtube, and if we do I'll post the link here :)

Tonight I'm going out with the girls, they've planned a party for me - and I'm really looking forward to it! My first night out as a married woman ;)
