We are working on our branding right now and once we have that we plan on doing a website revamp/relaunch.  Well, we've been using Wix here for a few months, which we started for free.  We even upgraded to the paid version thinking it would be better/have more to offer... and to be frank, it looks like shit.  (I would NOT recommend Wix to ANY OF YOU!!)  The way the photos upload is almost worse than uploading to FB, the images are NOT what they are on your computer, not even close... and the slideshows, UGH, don't get me started!  I want potential clients to see our work for what it is on a site that is user-friendly, showcases beautiful images to their fullest potential, seamless slideshows, and a nice blog.

Who do you use for your webhost?  Any good sites for templates that are designed specifically for/by photographers, etc?

There will be naysayers but I've been with Bludomain since 2005 and never had a problem. Easy, affordable, and designed for photographers by photographers.

That being said, Pictage will be including Nimbus (HTML5 cloud) web site hosting and services starting this month and probably early next year, a huge faction of Pictage photographers will be dropping Bludomain because free is always better.

If you are not a Pictage member, I highly recommend Bludomain (tell them I sent you).  I have had three interfaces with them and built two others for my artist friends (painter and invitation designer).  Very affordable and easy to use -but still looks great. Take a look at mine again.

I did Portfoliositez for a long time and they were pretty good until my business expanded enough to need something more robust. I use ShowIt now...pricey, but I LOVE the control I have over the site. They sync with a couple different photosharing sites (smugmug among them) to do your slideshows (so, you can just upload your pics to smugmug and make slideshows on your site out of specific smug mug galleries, if that makes sense).

You can FB  me if you have any questions about either :)
