During the weekend-or whatever days you have off-do you go all out and make a labor intensive but deliscious meal that you might not have time to make during a week night?-or do you eat out/eat simple since it's your day off and you don't feel like lifting a finger?

I tend to do both. Mostly on Saturdays I spend a while cooking-whether it's making something from scratch, or making an extra dessert for us to have the upcoming week. But on Sundays, I'm not in the mood for doing anything beyond necessary. I have to savor my last couple of hours of relaxation before the work week begins again = )

Both - We both grew up having big (and semi -early)  meals on Sundays  ...its just a tradition I like so I try to keep it going :)

Saturdays it depends ...soemtimes I cook big sometimes not ...and I prefer to get him to make his homemade pizza ... its the best!

Both! But I have to admit - we tend to go out to eat 85% of the time on weekends/days off but the other 15% I try more interesting and time consuming recipes :)

I TRY to make a big dinner on Sunday's, and we usually have friends over.  But it doesn't always happen.

Both I guess.  I don't work on Fridays and DH does so usually I'll do a bigger, more involved dinner, a nice bottle of wine, candles, etc that night for him to come home to.  Then on Saturdays I usually go on a cooking strike! :)  I cook Sunday through Thurs or Friday every week so I insist on going out or at least getting take out on Saturdays.  Sundays we usually do something easy like a salad or paninis or something...or DH will bbq.

We usually eat out! I cook every day during the week, so usually on Fridays and Saturdays we go out to a restaurant or get take out. Sundays are family dinners, either with my parents or his parents.

Depends. Lately weekends have been for catching up on work and schoolwork, so definitely lazy.  I do enjoy going all-out when the opportunity presents itself.

Both - we go out alot on Saturdays or just grab something quick... but if we ever have a relaxing day at home, I like to try something new in the crock pot. :)

I also like the idea of continuing the tradition of Sunday dinners at home.

FI and I both are from families that have a tradition of big Sunday dinners. I used to cook big meals on Sunday only but now I cook throughout the week as well if time permits.

ditto Niecy...i make homemade pizza for FI and he loves them so much that I am thinking about making Friday our pizza day!

we do pretty good about not going out to eat during the week, but i HAVE to go out on Fridays....that's my "thing," after a week of work, its just a nice way to kick off the weekend!

we usually cook at home again on Saturday, and then on Sunday we have pizza for dinner, because a) we're lazy, and b) its nice to have leftovers on Monday and not have to cook after the first day back at work!
