Hi ladies! I'm just checking in and saying hi! I'll poke my head back in later tonight :)

Things have been busy like always. We're farther along with the house; I had off from work for a straight week due to Hurricane Sandy, so that gave me a lot of time to unpack, organize, etc. Unfortunately it's been really hard to find the time and energy to keep at it now that we're both back to teaching. My parents are coming over this weekend to help us finish painting the foyer and hallways, and then I want to start setting up my craft room! Considering I so nicely let DH take over the entire 1000 sq.ft. basement, I've decided to turn one of the spare bedrooms into my own little studio space :)

Work has been going well, and my grad class is still really interesting (even if it is a lot to keep up with!) Next week should be a little crazy though. I have a major paper due, plus it's Thanksgiving of course, which means two family dinners that last all day. We're also going Black Friday shopping to get some things for the house, then that night it's the rehearsal for DH's friend's wedding, which is the next day. DH is the best man, and there is a long time and distance between the ceremony and reception, so we've volunteered our house as a place for guests to hang in between. I really hope there aren't still boxes all over when people show up!

LOL - yep, I used to do more than 2500 per day until they shipped our work overseas.  I use a ton of shortcuts though, and that helps.  : )

Lauren - I'm so glad to hear that you guys didn't experience major damage.  It's been really wierd since the hurricane; not sure exactly how to explain it, although I will be preparing for hurricane season next year like I used to in Florida.

I can't wait to see pics of your house as it is coming together and YAY for the craft room.  : )

Still no AF...which is kind of bothering me because I feel like it's just getting my hopes up for no reason. Ugh, we shall see I guess!

Becca- You'll need to pass along your hurricane tips next year! Never in a million years did I think I'd have to worry about hurricanes up here in the northeast...ah!

Most definitely Rania!!! I'm putting a letter out to Publix, a grocery store down in Florida where I used to live to see how I can get a hurricane tracking map up here with a complete list of supplies and other information needed for the season.  Although, a quick note...hurricane season does start June 1st and ends Nov 20th.  I remember every June 1st my friends and I going hurricane supply shopping.

Winter storms I'm still learning.  The only supply we don't have as of right now and I'm trying to pull money together for is a kerosene heater just in case the power goes out.  At least we will have heat.  : )

Hi ladies! This is just a quick check-in after having been MIA... Things have been hectic the last days and week. I've been ill aswell as the LO, so it was pretty stressful. Other than that, nothing special going on this week. We don't celebrate Thanksgiving over here. On Saturday evening we will have guests for dinner though and we will have a Swiss meal called "Raclette". It's a cheese meal, where you melt you pieces of cheese in a table-stove and then you eat it with hot potatoes, pickles, herbs etc. I love it!

@Tressy: So nice that you thought about me. Always the nicest words to say beautiful ladie :).

@Rania: Damn, you're so patient. I would have already test like a million time! FX for you.

@Becca: Kerosene heater seems like a great idea. But here, in Quebec, we have a lot of winter storms and I don't really have any supply in prevision...:S. But from as far a I can remember, it never happened that we lost electicity long enough to be incommodate about it. But we'll never be too careful!

@Swissgirl: I LOVE Raclette! We ate it in quebec, but it's probably not exactly the same that the one in Sweden. I bet it must be delicious. By the way, hope you and your LO are feeling better :).

Olivia!  Hi sweetie!  I so hope that you and LO get to feeling better quickly!!! Having dinner with friends sounds like so much fun and definitely an enjoyable evening! Your dish that you are talking about almost sounds like a fondue, which I so miss having. : )

Pascale - Yes, I have definitely put that heater on the top of my to get list, especially because of where we live.  We have trees all around us and in the rural area, a lot of times our power does go out.  They have said that we should be getting a higher than average snow fall this year, so that worries me a little bit.  I didn't remember you were in Quebec!!!  We used to visit my great aunt in Ontario during the summers.  I miss visiting Canada - it's always so beautiful!

On a side note, DH and I went this evening to the grocery store and got everything that we needed for our little two-family Thanksgiving dinner and it ended up costing us NOTHING - we used the gift card that his company gave out to each employee today.  So grateful for that!!!
