I forgot to stop here and say hello so, Hi!

We are currently looking for our first house.  We almost bought a house about 3 years ago and had a really bad experience and are just now back in the house buying market. We think we may have found the house we want after looking at a grand total of 7 houses.  We'll see what happens with that. 

DH and I have been married for a year and a half and we have a 12 year old son, two nephews  that live with us and a daughter that visits during summer and holidays. So we need a home that will fit our somewhat large and busy family. 

I'm looking forward to making a house our own.  Because we rent we can't really make a space ours and add our personality to it.  I want to paint and all curtains and our personal touches to a home.  

Hi all, I'm Allie... my husband and I are about to take the plunge and buy our first home.  We are just starting the process- getting pre-approved, meeting with a broker, then on to the hunt.  We have one daughter and are expecting another baby this Winter.  I am so excited to finally be able to call somewhere "my home"; to paint, hang up as many pictures as we like, plant a salsa garden, get a dog, and throw BBQ's with our friends and family!!  We were originally planning on staying in our 2 bedroom apartment with the baby for a few months, but we've realized recently that we are ready to get settled in a home before the baby is here.  I'm the most excited to decorate the kid's rooms!! :)

I bought my condo back in 11/2006 - before I even knew that DH existed! After we began dated/got engaged he moved in, but it still feels like my house that he just happens to live in. Also, it's only two bedrooms and two baths (full, thank goodness!), and we're quickly outgrowing it.

However, as of TODAY we have been pre-approved for the amount we were hoping for, and we contacted my previous realtor. I think we're officially ready to start the hunt. (Well, I guess the months I've spent stalking Trulia and the slow drive-bys we've been taking kinda count as starting, haha.)

I just realized I haven't stopped here and said hello, either :-)

Technically, I am not renting or owning. My DH and I just moved into our first house, which is on a military base in South Carolina. It is basically a roof and some walls -- no personality at all! We will only be here for a year before they move us into a new home on base. They are tearing down all these houses and will be building new ones. We will be one of the first groups to get a new home, so we are excited! We won't be buying a house for another three years or so, after my DH's enlistment is up and we move back home to Texas. So we will be saving like crazy until then, thanks to our "free" rent right now!

In the meantime, we are just trying to do everything we can to make these government quarters a home. I lurk in this group all the time, and it is very helpful to see what you all are doing and going through! You don't realize how little stuff you have until you move from an apartment into a house!;-)

Hello!!! DH and I are just starting the home buying process. Since he is away for training right now, I have basically been poring over thousands of realtor websites, researching the area we want to buy, doing drive-by's, etc. We would love to buy a house in Hershey, "the sweetest place on Earth," but we'll see! Though we'd love for DH to get out of the service, there are benefits to him staying in and he does pretty well for himself financially. Since we also want to start a family in about 6 months, we figure that the best thing for him to do right now is to stay in for awhile longer. Due to that, we need to stay up here and it is a very lovely area.

Hoping to learn even more from you good ladies and once DH comes back, we'll really start doing more with the process. : )

Hey Missie here, My DH and I just bought our first home back in April.  We had quite the challenging process in searching for our first home since we were buying in North Carolina but living in Pennsylvania!  We started looking in early March online and had a weekend trip down to check out about 12 homes in person, didn't find anything on that trip.  So we kept up the online search and moved into a temp. place the beginning of April.  After getting down to NC we ended up looking at about 20 or so more homes and then happened upon the one we fell in love with by chance while out driving around one Saturday afternoon.  We called our realtor that night and he set up an appointment for the next day and we made an offer the day after that. (House had only been on the market 4 days when we put our offer in, talk about right place at the right time!).  We closed two short weeks later and are finally getting settled in!

Hi All!! I'm Kristen!! :) I've been a member of the group for awhile, just haven't posted much ;)

DH and I bought our house in 2009! We love being home owners (the ups and the downs are challenging, but rewarding!), and are still learning every day!! :) I hope I can try to provide some insight and help for other ladies, but we are still learning as well!! :)

Our first home is a townhouse, perfect for just DH and I and our two cats! I'm hoping to stay in our house a few more years, but as we start (God willing) having children, we may need to upgrade in a few years!!

Hi! I'm Jessica.  My fiance, Jeremy, and I just bought our first home a few months ago.  We bought an 1891 farm house.  The house/hobby farm is amazing, with original hardwood floors, crown modlings, a walk-through closet, and a sunken, beamed master bedroom.  But, we are working with the challenges of keeping up a house this old as well as painting/decorating/remodeling some areas!

My fiance and I have been engaged for over a year and we're in the process of looking to buy a home. We currently live together, but I basically moved in to the place that my fiance was living in when we got engaged. We're looking for our own home and I'm so excited!

I'm thinking of this as our starter home. Whether its a condo or a regular house is fine by us. We'd like to find something with at least two bedrooms so that we'd have a nursery ready to go for when we TTC. We're looking in the greater Houston area. 

I absolutely love interior design and I can't wait to decorate our own home!
