Hi everyone!

Welcome to Outdoor Weddings! I encourage you all to share tips and ideas with one another, discuss what works well (or not so well) with outdoor weddings, and post about your favourite outdoor real weddings that you've seen!

Please begin by introducing yourself and your vision that you have for your wedding.

Cheers!

I'm Jess and the vision I have for my wedding is a gradual process, but I'd like it to be very romantic with rustic and vintage touches. I want to incorporate lots of texture and warm colors, and I plan on putting a lot of emphasis on the small details. I'm going to design my wedding myself and will likely be involved with a lot of DIY projects!

Hi, I'm Sandra and my fiancé is Darren, I'm better known as LadyY over here. We're planning an outdoor wedding for October 1, 2010. Our location is family (private) property on Lake Pontchartrain (Laplace / Louisiana). This is a picture of the pavillion we will use as our ceremony and probably also for the reception. More information can be found in my biopage:

Hi- I had an amazing outdoor wedding- on the cliffs of California's coast! It was a bit chilly that day-chilly in July- in southern California- I was a little upset-- but I didn't notice @ all bc I was so hot in my dress! I felt bad for the girls in tiny dresses!! But it was everything I imagined and more! When DH and I were looking for venues- this was our second trip out looking. We were so tried from viewing over 5 venues that day...and we were arguing about venues...lol... then we pulled up to Point Vicente Interpretive Center- and there was pure silence in the car now. The view took both of our breaths away (our arguing breaths!) We like slowly got out of the car and walked towards the exact spot in the picture below. It was love at first sight. We knew this would be the place we would get married at!

Facts: Its a Whale watching center! And its the old seaworld! It use to be called Marine Land!! Lots of our parents aged guests- were like "omg I haven't been here since I was a kid- and wow is it different!" So it was cool because they all got to have some flashbacks of good times!

Here is a pic of our view!

My name is Kim and my fiance' and I will be married October 9, 2009 at the Piedmont Room which is in Atlanta, Georgia.

My vision is all about romance, beauty, and just plain fun!  I am so much in love with James that I wanted others to feel what we feel for each other.  I took very careful consideration in everything from the location, the time of day, the music, etc.  Every single detail was very important.  We will marry in the garden of the location which overlooks a beautiful park and off in the distance you see the city of Atlanta.  I thought how perfect it will be as we say our vows to one another the sun will set!  I have hired a harpist which I personally feel is the sound of heaven.  I have chosen all white flowers along with birdcages for the ceremony with the exception of the flowers that my bridesmaids will carry.  the only color that you will see will be with my bridesmaids and his groomsmen which are colors selected from the peacock feather itself.

The Reception is a totally different experince.  It will be an exotic garden full of palms trees and open fruits! We have choosen to do all old school music because we felt that everyone could relate and have a great time!  And of course, I have a couple of surprises planned!

My name is Tami and will be getting married outside at a private estate on Maui, HI.

My vision? Well, I just really want to play up on the natural beauty that is already there. Our estate is very small and private which will allow us to have a very intimate wedding. It's also has very tropical grounds with a huge papaya tree, old palm trees and perfect vantage point to watch the sunset over the water.

I love glass and candlelight. I think I'm going to incoorporate a bit of copper too- for a distressed/modern look. And I think playing up with these things will really compliment the sunset and scenery.

Here are a few pictures of the estate and decor that I have in mind...
