So, I've started my first DIY.  I opted to do personalized hangers for the bridal party.  Here's a pic of some of them so far.  I still need to make fabric flowers to cover the wooden area, which I'll be starting on tonight.  =)

So I ve started photo 2932448-1

Aww, thanks Michelle!  They're very easy and inexpensive to make.  =)  The fabric flowers are proving to be a pain though.  May take all weekend to make them.

toooooo cute!  what gauge wire are you using?  is it copper?  or something else? and where did you get the wooden hanger?  deets!

Sorry, I should have put that all in there.  I found an easier way to do these.

I bought the wooden hangers at Walmart in a pack of 5 for $4.  The wire is actually aluminium floral wire.

It is SO much easier to work with than regular wire from home improvement stores.  I can't recall how much comes on a roll, but you can get 2 long names or 3 short out of one roll.  Cost $3.99 at Michael's.

Then I used a C battery for all my lower case a's, c's, d's, and e's.  I used a smaller travel size lotion bottle for rounding the n's and r's. Also, I used a pair of needle nose pliers to get the straight bends and to pinch the wire together for n's and i's.  And you'll need a wire cutter (just one for crafts, nothing heavy duty).

The best way to do it is to leave about a foot of wire before you start bending.  Make sure you write out on paper how you have to bend the wire to make the names. Then use it as a guide; makes things infinitely easier.

Once I made the first one I got the hang of it.  And I did 3 more in 45 minutes.  I also want to say that I'm not overly crafty and I get frustrated easily, so if I can do it anyone can.  =)

I love them! I'm not crafty at all so I haven't started on anything yet. Plus we don't really have storage space :(.

I've started collecting glass jars and coloring them.  We're having our wedding in our new backyard. :)  Very informal.  I've been collecting all shapes and sizes of glass jars from anyone that will save them for me.  Our colors are pretty much bright colors.  So, I'm coloring the jars teal, pink, purple, blue, green and various shades of each.  They'll be clustered on all of the tables with either glass marbles or the bubble things you put in plants that swell up when you add water (not sure what they're called).  And then each jar will have glow sticks in them with some kind of flower arrangement.  Still getting the knack of coloring the jars with out drips drying in them.  But, i think I'm going to love how it turns out :)
