How did you come to the decision to wed outside vs. indoors?

I just didn't really want a church wedding...and the other venues I looked at (chapels, museums, etc) just didn't really do it for me.  But when I saw this garden, I thought it was perfect!

DH and I are both hikers, and he is a mountaineer.  We are not church-religious, so there was never a question that we would have an outdoor wedding.

First tim FI took me out to the lake I was blown away by the view. We shared a lot of time over there, talking how we felt about our relationship, about one and another and if we could really commit to each other. The place means so lot to us, there's just no other place we would wanna get married on this planet.

Every wedding I've been to has been in a room, frequently windowless, with no other purpose in life but to host events...it just seemed incredibly sterile.  I didn't want that. :)

I consider myself to be very romantic, so it made perfect since to get married in a garden setting and as we say our vows to one another;the sun is setting behind us!  Storybook!

I'm getting in Maui... I'm not sure it's even legal to get married inside there. :)

I didn't want to do the traditional church(I do attend so nothing having to do with religion) wedding and I wanted it too be more intimate and I love flowers. So, Im getting married in a garden full of flowers.

I would totally get married outside.  It's a good thing I don't have to choose because it would be VERY hard to, between the beach and a woodsy setting.   Maybe a lake, I could have both water and woods.

Of course I should probably let my groom (whoever he my be) have *some* say in the matter.  ;)
