I'm taking my dad in to go look for his tux for the wedding this weekend since he's out of the country and won't be back again until right before the wedding.

Anyone in San Jose area (Norcal) have recs for a good place?  What is the average price of tuxes usually? I asked my firiend who had her wedding last year and theirs was almost $200 each and the groom's is free (from Men's Warehouse).  To me that seems really expensive but I don't know.  Is that average?

I was hoping to find them for under $100 each?  Is that way too low?  I mean, it's renting not buying!  $200 is more than we spent on BM dresses!

Any help?  Thanks!

In the Bay Area I was looking at $170 to $190 before taxes for a particular suit rental. I decided to call a small bridal shop in Gilroy and we got it for $135 out the door.

I think they are around 200 here too, for a rental, which is crazy if you ask me.  My bm dresses are only $35 more than that and they get to keep them!

geez, that's just crazy.  i did not realize tuxes were so expensive!  we may just end up buying nice suits or something for that price.

I think our boys managed to get theirs for around $120 with shoe rental?  We got such a good price on them because we rented 15 of them, so they cut us a deal.

we're in so.cal, but prices from men's warehouse and friar's tux is about $150-200.  similar to what pickaroe did, we went with a small bridal salon (in oc) and they were a ton cheaper.  our tuxes will be under $100 each (including shoes!). maybe you should try calling around local bridal shops...

we BOUGHT the suits for the guys for $100 a piece. not tuxes though. my DH got his tux there for $150, but they had limited sizes. buying was cheaper than renting so we bought them as gifts for the guys...photos in my bio. the turned out nice and our groomsmen definitely would wear them again (we got them navy 2pc suits)....

Mafalda's Bridal in Gilroy. I didn't try shops in San Jose because we were getting married in Gilroy. Even the small shops in Fremont were pricey.
