i don't think we're having a honeymoon at all. Although we've been together 6 years and have never vacationed anywhere together alone and it'd be so nice to have one. We just can't afford it after paying for a wedding.

Well couples deserve both a great wedding and a great honeymoon. That said, if you give your guests a fantastic wedding they'll give you bigger checks at the end of the night and then the honeymoon can be even more awesome with the extra money you made on the wedding. We're thinking that couples generally make 30% of what they spent on the wedding. IE. $50,000 wedding will get you $15,000 in cash gifts.
So my point here: Make it really fun for the guests so you can have both a great wedding and a great honeymoon.

FI and I wanted an elegant yet fun wedding, but we also wanted an unforgettable honeymoon. I have heard that both the bride and groom are extremely tired after the wedding, so having a wonderful honeymoon planned is something else to look forward to. We love traveling to new places, so the honeymoon was very important to us. Even though we've spent more on our wedding & honeymoon than originally planned, we both know it will be worth it.

I definately think the wedding is the most important. The honeymoon is really low on my list of importance. We will probadly vacation once or twice a year..this is going to be my only wedding where I stand in front of friends and family and promise to spend the rest of my life with my FI. Our wedding is what I am looking forward to the most-I don't care who remembers what minor details, but knowing that I put all the extra special touches that means things to us is what I will remember. Sure the honeymoon is going to be great...but hopefully so will the rest of the vacations we take together the rest of our lives!

After certain events (graduations) in your life no one is going to come together to celebrate you or your FI. Both of our families will likely never come together again (they live very far apart). So , we want to take it all in and enjoy the entire time we all get together!
