In case of rain, what are you going to do?  We have an indoor chapel on the grounds of our venue, but I'm PRAYING we don't have to use it.  It's nowhere NEAR as beautiful and might be haunted.  :(

Im afraid to say, but we didnt come up with a back-up plan yet... Its not that we dont have time (over 1 year lol) but we just dont know if we want to spend much money on a tent, we most likely *knocks on wood* dont need.

Ours was a corner deck overlooking the river.  We still would have been outdoors, but covered instead.

I *thought* I was ok with that, until the time came when the venue said 'we're setting up the alternate site because it looks like rain' and I broke down.

We eeeeked in the ceremony outdoors and were pronounced husband and wife no sooner than it started to rain. . .!

Wildfire - oh no!  A haunted chapel?  Keeping my fingers crossed for good weather on your day :)

We're having a tent set up in yard rain or shine. But if it's really really bad weather we can just decorate the inside of the house that morning instead of the yard.

No big deal to me, we'd still be married in the end and that's what important.

um.... cross fingers!  lol

I'm thinking of getting a bunch of those oiled parasols (plain white bamboo style) just in case.  In my area it typically doesn't rain at the end of june.

Haha yeah, our venue--The Dominion House-- is listed as one of the haunted houses on www.hauntedhouses.com.

I guess some little kids died there a long time ago and their ghosts are rumored to haunt it.  my fiance LOVES that about the place.  :)

I don't have anything.  We are getting married at my fiance's parent's backyard.  It's quite a bit, but if the weather is not good, we'll be all inside , which is not a good idea for me :(  But I hope the weather is fine.  I heard August is supposed to be drier than last year, so we'll see...

The ceremony is set to be outdoors, as well as the cocktail hour... and the reception under a pre-set up tent (part of the winery).  So all food, drinks and dancing will be under the tent, and connected to the associated winery.

If it's raining - ceremony will be inside the rustic winery, with cocktails in the same place immediately after.

While we love the rustic feel of the winery, and soft pretty side of the tent, we really hope for dry-ish weather so we can have our nuptials OUTSIDE on the hill overlooking the Hudson.  Fingers crossed!

If it's raining, my venue has a special area which can be covered over...which totally defeats the whole purpose of paying all this money to have a garden wedding.
