My dress is still sitting in its bag, haven't gotten it cleaned yet:/ I had a hard time getting it pressed because of the fabric. Any suggestions on where to bring it?

Hm, I'm sorry I won't be much help. I've been married for over a year and the dress is in it's bag hanging on a door. I'm going to be doing a TTD session though!

Im in the same place as Nicole lol Still in my closet and I really want to do a TTD.

If you go to a reputable dry cleaner they will be able to take care of your dress. I would either ask the boutique where you purchased your dress or ask another one for a recommendation. it should be cleaned, pressed and then boxed to retain shape (if done properly).

Good luck :)

David's Bridal has a preservation kit where you put your dress in a prepaid mailing box and they send it back to you after cleaning and everything in a preservation box..

Ha, I've also been married over a year and my dress is still hanging in it's bag in our office :) I've listed it for sale but nothing yet, and I'm thinking of doing a TTD. Honestly, I think selling it is your best bet, you won't get near as much out of it as you paid but it's something...and yes you may want to save for a daughter but styles will probably change and she may not want to wear your dress. I know I didn't want to wear the one that was offered to me!

No help here - almost 15 years later, it's still in the bag in the closet, LOL! (but I can still fit it :)

My DIL had a beautiful pillow and a baptism gown made out of it for her daughters (who she had later). It was beauiful!!!

Thanks for all the reply's! I'm glad I'm not the only one who still has their dress in a bag in the closet. It would be fun to do a TTD and get to wear it one more time! I love the idea of saving it and eventually making something out of it for my daughter someday! Thanks for all the great ideas girls!

I'll likely hold on to it.. I've seen an idea online where you frame the dress (or a portion of it) with your monogram, wedding date, first dance lyrics, petals from your bouquet, etc. in a shadow-box type wedding display.
