What would you choose: Diamonds or Vegas?

Last night my FI brought up his wedding gift to me.  As I've mentioned before, he's terrible with surprises and always spills the beans with excitement. 

Here's the deal.  He basically gave me an option.  I can choose between either a diamond wedding band to match my e-ring (I've been planning to only use e-ring for $$ purposes) OR a "mini" getaway to Vegas?

Just curious, what would you choose?

vegas... i'm all about life expereince and having fun... ring will always be there - maybe you'll change your mind about style etc...  and if ring is purchased by someone else - another ring will be there and another and another...

i guesss same can be argued about vegas being there tomorrow and next year also...

what would you "regret" not doing or having???

Ring.  For me personally, Im OVER LV.  Ive been several times and it just doesn't do it for me.  Plus, you know what they say....

i agree...the ring.  a vegas trip will come and go.  but you'll be able to look at that ring every day and know that he got it for you as a gift on your wedding day.  and like kohler, i'm over vegas.  i'm not a gambler and not that into shows and i'm over the club scene so there isn't much of a draw.  i say go for the diamonds! ;)

Here's the catch details:

Ring will be custom made (just as my e-ring was) to match "perfectly."  Our friend is a jeweler and does spectacular work.

Vegas would be one night, yes ONE night.  FI says one spectacular night...suite, a great show, fantastic dinner, dancing, etc.  Also, he wants to go the WEEK before the wedding.

As much as I'd love to go to Vegas, I really don't think one night is really worth all the hassle.  I totally agree D1rty...I'm all for life experience, but I'm sure the wedding and our honeymoon to Rome will do it for me lol!  I asked my FI what would happen to the option I don't choose.  He said that he'd make it happen for our 1st anniversary.  I decided to go with the ring and he said that for our first anniversary he'll plan a trip to Vegas for a few nights.

Kohler, that is exactly what I said, "Diamonds are forever"  LOL!!!!
