Where did you go on first date?

Tressy, I'm usually fairly good at typing a novel lol :p

He took me to see my favorite group the Temptations on my birthday, which was our first date.

The Hard Rock Cafe - Las Vegas, LOL!  It was a "set-up" between mutual friends...  16 years ago this month...  time flies!

I guess we had two "first" dates because we hung out once and I had no idea it was a date...lol. I'll tell you both:

The first time he invited me to play indoor soccer. I drove 45 minutes to his parents house (this was the summer after we lived/met in the dorms and both lived with our parents that summer) so I met up at his parents house and we played indoor soccer. The best thing about that, is I played AMAZING that night! lol. Not to toot my own horn, but I rocked. But I also didn't know it was a date because his ex-gf was there! I was confused but apparently she was there watching somebody else...hmm....lol. So after soccer we went to Denny's for some late night food and I slept over his parents house! haha. Pretty random! I didn't kiss him until he officially asked me to be his gf like a month later! LOL.

Our 'second' first date was to see the movie Cars. He picked me up at my parents house this time. It was funny because my entire family was hanging out on the front porch when he arrived, so it probably looked like an interrogation waiting to happen. Another little detail about that night was earlier that week he had been hit in the eye at soccer and his whole left eye was BLOODSHOT RED. I couldn't even look him in the eye it looked so painful. lol. And it was before Cinemark took debit cards, and he didn't have enough cash so I paid for the movie....haha. Then he paid for ice cream afterwards. I remember him driving me home and I was just thinking how much fun I was having with him. It felt so natural!

Our first date wasn't planned or anything.  

We were in a lot of the same classes in college since we had the same major.  The very first time we met, he asked me out, but I turned him down because I was seeing someone already.  Well, that didn't work out, and a year later, we had another class together.  Apparently he didn't ask many girls out because he remembered me right away, and immediately came up to my desk and asked me if I was still seeing someone.  I just laughed it off and then class started.  He was kind of pushy at first...he'd ask me out at least twice a week.  It wasn't really that I didn't want to date but come on....what girl doesn't love when a guy chases them? 

Anyway, one day I was outside with my friend and we were talking about going to lunch after class.  He heard us talking and came over to us.  He said something along the lines of "I'm hungry too let's go" hahahahaa.  So we all piled into his car, and we went to one of my favorite resturants.  At the end of the dinner, I went to pull out my wallet, as did my friend and he said "Oh, I already paid for you guys.  That means this was a date." I was laughing so hard.  After that I was interested. We piled back in his car, and stopped to get gas.  When he got out my friend (in total high school fashion) was telling me how much he liked me and how obvious it was and blah blah blah.  As soon as he got back in the car, she told him she had to be back at school to get her car so could he drop her off.  He turned to ask me but he couldn't even get two words out before my friend said "she's done for the day you guys should hang out more".  I was totally embarassed.  That stuff has always made me uncomfortable.

He dropped her off back at school, and we went to get ice cream.  While talking we found out we had a mutual love for long drives, and country music.  He had a good CD collection in his car, and we ended up driving for 4and a half hours just talking and listening to music.  By the time we stopped talking and realized that we were almost 5 hours from home, it was 11pm.  We went through a McDonald's drive through since it was the only thing open, and I slept for most of the drive home. (Which I didn't mean to do, but I was so tired) When we got back to school to pick up my car, the entire campus was empty, because it was about 5am! 

After that, we were pretty much inseperable.  We would text until 3 and 4 in the morning everyday, and then meet up before class for breakfast.  He wold even come over and go with me to walk my dog EVERYNIGHT.  I moved in with him about 8 months later, and we got engaged three years after that.  And here we are. :)

I think I had the most unconventional "first date."  NotFroofy and I met online.  At the time, she lived in the UK, and I live in Maryland, so it wasn't like we could go out for coffee together.  So after several months of online and phone chats, we decided that she would come and visit me.

I picked her up at the airport.  However, my computer was at my ex's house to be repaired at the time, so we stopped there on the way back to my house.  Yes, I really did take her to my ex's before we even got home!

The next morning, we went out to brunch--with my former mother-in-law, who had Alzheimer's, and my son, who has Asperger's.  In the course of that conversation, NotFroofy and my son began discussing different foods they had tried.  At one point, my son asked her, "Have you ever had crabs?"  He thought they were still discussing food.  She thought it was an awfully personal question for a first meeting.

My view was that if NotFroofy survived the first day, I would know we were meant for each other.  That was 12 years ago, so it looks like I was right!

Mark and I went on a double date with my Ex who was also his BF and my friend to a nice Italian Restaurant and then he and I went to the Science Museum Boston alone.

It was a lovely time. The Museum was not planned we had wanted to go do something fun. Yup he and are geeks to the end.

One of our next dates involved buying an electronics magazing and a soldering project that we did together. The date after that was to sub way and hanging out with his friends discussing computer builds.

My first flower from him was at my H.S. dance and it was a single yellow rose.

We could not date until my Ex was dating and I fixed those two up and they were quite happy together for quite awhile.

actually ours was quite strange...

when alex first asked me out I agreed to have dinner with him on his birthday. 

I had bought him a gift but in the last minute i got cold feet and told him a friend from germany had come over surprisingly and I had to go and pick her up...

he then told me to meet a minute at the corner (we were working in front of each other´s working place). he had a tear in his eye and he gave me a little box.... he had bought me a bracelet.... for his own birthday.... and i felt like such a cow.

forward some days, he came over and asked me if i wanted to come on a weekend to venice with him. I was thrilled because i had now understood he was not after "the one thing" but really liked me. i booked two single rooms and when the weekend came , off we went.... and crashed the car to pieces. 

apart from a shock he was fine but i had a double broken sternum. after three days of hospital, i came back out and we finally agreed to have dinner together.

that evening i had a dress which was white, with a waterfall collar, pretty much like my wedding dress but hotstuff version, it was short and the back was open. 

when he picked me up, i told him to stop at a paper store.. and bought double tape to glue my decolleté to my body because the was so much wind, i would have ended up with "them" outside. then we went finally and he brought me to a tiny restaurant for only like 30 guests.

he had gone there in the afternoon and had brought flowers for me there. his whole outfit was new from head to toe. white linen shirt and beige linen trousers. (this is when i realized he had a cute bumm ;-))

the evening was lovely. the food delicious and he had ased the owner to make a strawberry cake only for me.

after dinner i went to wash my hands and when i came back my napkin was frumpled. when i picked it up i found a little box under it and was so surprised i got all pink. it took me ages of nestling until i got it open and found a ring with little turning stars in it... while i was still in awe, h bent over and kissed me for the first time.

when he brought me home, we spent hours kissing on the sofa... without anything else happening. when he went home, i opened the little card that with the flowers... and found this inside: I love You

i felt overwhelmed because i felt it... i still do every day
