Who chose your engagement ring?

I have a funny story to go along with mine. We went to Florida for my 37th birthday and stopped into a jewelry store. DH and the jeweler were taken aback at my lack of interest in looking at rings. The jeweler even remarked that maybe I didn't want to get married! I explained that I am traditional in this aspect, wanted to be surprised and if he got me a piece of twine I would have been estatic! So on a weekend getaway, we stopped in to see a jewelry store and I DH chose my piece of heaven!

Okay so who picked out your ring?

My ring chose me, lol. 

I was crying about my mom and FI said well let's just go in here. I didn't realize I was in the jewelry store until I looked up, and he asked me what ring do I want. So I guess I did.

I did, sort of, lol. I looked and look and looked at rings and never really wanted any off the ones I saw. So I told FI what I wanted and he had it made locally for me. =)

I gave DH ideas of the styles that I liked, but he picked it out. Unfortunately, we had a lot of problems with it -between a span of a few months one of the chips kept falling out (all but one time it was the SAME chip!) We'd have to bring it back to the store then they would have to send it across the country to have it replaced then would have to send it back again. It was getting to the point that I was afraid to look down for fear that another would be missing :( Eventually it got to be so frustrating that DH picked out another one and it came in a couple of months before the wedding! 

hmmm i told him once when we were not even dating that if i ever got married, the ring had to be one of a kind just as the guy himself. and that it had to talk to me... so when he wanted to get me a ring he said: if the ring tells me a novel and to you it doesn´t talk???? what will i do? and he asked me to help him chose :-)))) 

DH chose mine.  I had nothing to do with it and it was a complete surprise.

I chose my ring. Then DH saved up for it, and when he went to buy it, they had sold it. He was so worried to tell me. But when he called to tell me, I told him that it must not have been the right ring, then. 

Round two, I went back to that store and shopped again. I simply could not find anything I liked.

So I asked my sister for advice, and she recommended Shane Co. because that's where her ring came from, so we went there, and I absolutely loved it. I had major ring anxiety by that point because I was so worried I was picking the wrong ring. I picked one, and later he went back and bought it, and even after I got it, I had ring panic. I was just sick because i was afraid it was the wrong one. It was crazy.

Eventually I got over my anxiety, though, and I absolutely love my ring. And my husband got a great opportunity to learn what a crazy woman he was marrying! ;-)

Here it is:

We chose my rings together.  The first ring was right after we got engaged at the beach and then went to the mall.It was a ruby.

The second ring was 18 years later and I picked out 10 rings I liked and he then picked the one that he liked best of those 10.

However, I am still not a diamond girl I will not buy diamonds so I showed him CZ's and Moissanite and the Moissanite are far more pricey. He chose the 14k gold/whitegold setting and the 3 stone 1.5 carat TW Moissanite ring that I am head over heals for. That was the most expensive of all the rings I had picked.
