Since Thanksgiving is next week and we have had a change in our plans, I'm trying to get prepared for next week's dinner that I'll be making for DH and I.

Is anyone else finishing up last minute errands/getting prepped for Thanksgiving and the holiday season?

Hello Becca!

My stepson is cooking dinner for us so all I have to do is wake up and be pretty! : ) Okay, I am making a pie or two, baking a cake and making some greens because my nieces love them. I am taking him to the base this Saturday so he can get what he needs to prepare dinner. Things are sooo much cheaper at the Commissary. I am going to pick my daddy up Thanksgiving morning so he can stay with us for the holiday and the weekend.

Thanksgiving should be easy this year, whew! We just have to bring a ham and some rolls, since my cousin and I have taken it over and trade years, this year it's at her house!

I haven't even started thinking about Xmas yet, although we did go pick out our tree! The new tree farm we started buying from last year had a special where you could go last weekend when it was warm and tag your tree, then come and cut it down later!

I am so pumped!!! Last night I wrote out my grocery list for Thanksgiving, so this weekend we are going to hammer out our shopping. I found out we are having a few more people than expected so I am working out getting an extra table. We have a kinda small condo. Our dining room is HUGE, but not big enough for two big tables haha   It will all work out and it will be wonderful though!

I am getting so excited for Christmas as well! Thanksgiving night we are putting the tree up and decorating!

We are doing Thanksgiving at my brother's this year so I get to bring a few covered dishes and have a blast.  I am so excited.  This is our first Thanksgiving and Christmas together!

For the first time EVER I have some Christmas shopping done.  I'm usually never even able to start until December.  I know that sounds crazy but with always having one income I could never start until then.  I'm super excited about that!!

Alex and I were planning on going to his grandparents house for thanksgiving, but due to a recent turn of events they are no longer hosting thanksgiving - and since we just moved to the area we don't know anyone else to join for the holiday!

It looks like we are going to make the best of our TINY apartment kitchen and see if we can pull off cooking some portion of a thanksgiving dinner for ourselves. Kind of a bummer though.

We are excited for Christmas though - we leave pretty darn soon to go back to Oregon for Christmas and new years. =]

thanksgiving and christmas are BUSY around here. we have yet to figure out a good way to split up time between both families, so we go to both, which is cray-cray with a toddler who still naps! i am looking forward to going to my moms for thanksgiving dinner, because i am bringing a new dish that iv never tried and im dieingggg to make it! i am dreading going to DHs family, because they have about 15 people over, and i always feel so overwhelemed when going there because they BOMBARD us (mya is the first baby born in both families, so theyre rightfully obsessed with her)

christmas is going to go something like this: open presents here, 10am go to DHs aunts (dads side) for breakfast, come home around noon for DDs nap, around 1pm, go to my moms, and straight from there around 3pm, go to DHs moms for dinner with his moms side and another round of presents. we cant wait until mya is older and we can use her as our excuse for people needing to come here bc she wont want to leave her new presents!

gift wise, i only have mya finished and drew started. we agreed to only exhange 4 things this year since we are saving, so i have 2 of his 4 gifts. but we still need BIL/SIL, my brother, my mom, his parents. and i have ZERO ideas for any of them. :(

i am very stressed this holiday season. and it doesnt help that xmas music has yet to start on the radio, so i am no where near in holiday spirit.

I am so ready! We'll spend Thanksgiving Day with DH's family. I'm bringing the sweet potatoes and corn. Then we'll have Thanksgiving dinner with my family on the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

Normally I'm a scrooge about people starting Christmas too early, but this year I've been ready to put up the tree for weeks! We already have most of our shopping done, too. Last year it was unseasonably warm here, and it never really felt like Christmas. It's supposed to be nice and cold this year, and we are already feeling the spirit! In fact, I think we're putting up the tree today!
