I know we all have our reasons for doing a renewal what's yours? If you are newly married can you see yourself doing a renewal?

My Story.

Well my husband and I have been together for 10 years married for 5. We have two lovely kids and have been through a lot of ups and downs. Our main reason is to renew the love through this new chapter or having an actual wedding. We never had a wedding because of finances and it was extremely important to the both of us to be married just in case anything happened to one of us. We didn't want each others family's coming in and taking what didn't belong to them.

My in-laws don't like me very much, though they have yet to give me a reason. We both can feel it. They don't want me around when they have family get togethers, but will tolerate me to see my husband and our daughter. Our son is from a previous relationship of mine so he really isn't accepted.

It is our hope to bring the families together and to create a unified happy moment. If that is at all possible. At the minimum we will have the memories that were ruined by his family by us going to the justice of the peace. Which turned out to be a NIGHTMARE. Even after all that we have loved hard and laughed  a lot.

We are still Newlyweds.  It will be two years in May.  We actually did not get to recite our vows because the pastor was late.  We had a small wedding in the park early in the morning.  We were actually going to stay engaged for a few years.  I just realized one day that I had the man God blessed me with.....why am I waiting?  So I told him although I did want the grand entrance and the gown and shoes and to have that dance with him, that what matters was that he would be the one to see me walk down the aisle and that he thought I was beautiful and that he would be the one that I get to dance with.  So we got married on our first official anniversary {he likes to count from when I asked him out}  To my surprise, he truly wants to give me my dream wedding and we are going to make it happen, with a few pleasant twists...........

My best friend other than Habibi {means My Beloved} was willing to walk me down the aisle.....remember we got up and said we're getting married so I had no formal plan.  My Father-In-Law did ask to walk me though.  So my now Maid of Honor is actually going to conduct our Vow Ceremony!

In lieu of being walked down the aisle by someone we are going to walk down the aisle together!

A very good friend of mine who is in the industry has opened a few doors for me and because of that my dream gown that I wanted by THE DESIGNER HERSELF is making me a couture gown!  & of course my friend is designing a pair or shoes for me to rock (:

Also to answer to the topic of the thread the point I feel of the Vow Renewal is to CELEBRATE YOUR MARRIAGE!

My husband and I are both military and decided to jump the gun and run off to the courthouse so we wouldn't get seperated. But after two years..you start to miss the fact that you didn't get the "good stuff". We don't have pictures, we didn't have family, and I didn't even have a dress. So now that we are all settled in...I think it's just about time...we get the pics to go with the memories  ;-)

My husband and I have been married for ten years.  It was not the right moment for a big wedding in 2001 so we did it at city hall, just the two of us. No one knew except our parents and my BFF.  We were happy, but with all the sadness in NYC we didn't want to share our "happiness". It just didn't feel right.  So finally we get to have our special moment. I am soooooooooo excited. And the best part, our little girls will be a part of our special day. I couldn't ask for anything more.
