"Why is Your Wedding on a Friday?"

My mom wants me to change my wedding date to Saturday the 26, because she thinks people won't come. I understand her thinking but if I change the day I will need to find a new venue and we won't get married on our anniversary. She said "People won't have the time to get home from work and make it to your wedding in time." I don't think it will be a problem because the wedding won't start until 7:30pm. What do you think?

I think that is ridiculous!! Get married on your anniversary! People will come!!

The whole point of save the dates and stuff is so people can plan ahead to get time off of work if they need to. 7:30 is a completely reasonable time! I say get married on your anniversary in the venue you really love!!

Worse case scenario: you have a few less people to feed/favors to buy/programs to make

Seriously though =] We got married on our anniversary and it made it all the more special. Don't change anything unless you want to!!

I agree!! my cousins wedding was on a Friday and there were plenty people there. And so many at the reception was almost standing room only. Not going against your mom. But Friday will be great and people will come. But you should send out save the dates so your guess can perpare.

Omgggg, I get that all the time too!! Everyone always ask me, "Why on sunday?" I am getting married on a sunday AND it's because t'll be on our 5th year anniversary!

Don't let your mom try and talk you out of your wedding date. People will come and they will have fun! It's a wedding, everyone always have fun at weddings. No matter what day of the week it is!!! :)

my mom did the same thing, of course it wasn' t our anniversary (which I think is super sweet), we just WANTED a friday. We enjoyed our weekend mini-moon and he went back to work. He's saving that vacation time for the 'big' trip.
Nearly everyone we invited showed up and had a ball! Don't change it!

Our wedding is on a friday too! Its going to be our 4 year anniversary. The only person who's questioned it was my moh I was just like deal with it it's our anniversary and fridays are cheaper.

well my wedding is on a month anni :) couldn't get the year anniversary but its a thursday ! I've had the same nagging from people but i'm sure people can get time off work and most of my family friends work for themselves anyway. If people wanna be there they'll make the effort :)
